We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Capello and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think of myself as a very overall conservative person. I don’t tend to be the one to take risks but at the same time I see the value in taking risks. I find that financially I am more conservative and find myself shying away from huge investments but rather making smaller investments that over time and practice pay off in the end. Creatively, I am all for taking risks, in fact, often time when I get into a creative “rut” , I find myself pushing my boundaries and limits and taking risks creatively to make magic and expand my knowledge as well as re-invigorate my passion!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets ACapello Photography apart from the rest is that I stand by my brand and I don’t waiver from it. I find the value in simplicity and making the client the focus of the art. Only playing with light and posing to create shapes in negative space to create different vision and vibes.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite places in Arizona include Sedona- oak creek super relaxing and lots of hiking great wineries, downtown Phoenix for the restaurants- the yard is a fun hipster restaurant.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Becoming a photographer was actually never my life plan (although my mom was a Photographer- shout out to my mom, who peaked my interest in photography) I went to college and obtained my masters in a completely unrelated field. All along the way maintaining interest in photography and holding it as my hobby and side hustle. But I was blessed with some great friends in the business that have guided my path and mentored me from the start including the first person who taught me digital – Slaven Gujic.
