Meet Anna DePalma | Professional Golfer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna DePalma and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want to make sure I leave a positive and inspiring legacy. I want to show others especially young women that they can do anything they set their minds too. I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am, I have had success and struggles. I have over come hard times in my life. I believe talking about my hard times opens up the eyes of others showing them they are not the only ones. Golf is such an amazing game and has so many life lessons. I want to remind others that being able to over come your struggles makes you so much stronger. No one is perfect and be proud of who you are. Don’t ever forget where you came from. Remember everyone is different and that is okay, BE YOU! My mom tells me all the time “we have enough smart people in this world, not enough nice people”. That has stuck with me since I was young. I want to continue to inspire others to be kind, work hard, never give up on their dreams and life each other up. You are able to over come anything that comes at you with the right mindset and the right intentions.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am currently a professional golfer, on mini tours. I played at the University of Iowa. I have done several charity and corporate events raising money and giving back to the community. Being a professional golfer is not what everyone thinks it is. Yes I get to play amazing courses, be outside all day, travel and meet incredible people but it is not easy. Being a professionally athlete there are a lot of blood, sweat and tears that goes on behind the scenes. Being on the road gets lonely, when you aren’t play well it get frustrating. If it weren’t for my support group I wouldn’t be where I am today. I thank them for always having my back when I do have my weak moments. I have learned so many lessons from the game of golf, patience, integrity, focus, problem solving, respect, communication and learning to aspect the uncontrollable.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Scottsdale, there are so many exciting things to do and see. For starters, there is a golf course on almost every corner. I love playing TPC Scottsdale, Troon North and Grayhawk. As for restaurants, Flower Child is my absolute favorite, I love going to The Mission Old Town and Jade Bar because of the view. There are also 2 Top Golf’s in the area which is such a great time especially with friends in town. I love going to Cardinals games and watching the Suns play. I am such a sports fan any sports related activity is a must. I love going to W in Old Town because of the pool and atmosphere, fun little get away.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedication this to my parents, Robert & Roxanne DePalma. They have instilled in me since I was young to always be proud of who I am as a person, work hard and to also be kind to others.
