We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Blue and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When deciding to start my own business I mostly thought about all the creative freedom it would give me. To be able to utilize the skills I have learned over the years to create beautiful hair for my clients in a beautiful space.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I decided a long time ago that hair is my passion specifically color. I love to be able to take my clients natural beauty and enhance it with the right amount of contrast in their hair. When people ask me what type of hair I enjoy doing I always respond with: “pretty hair”. I love allowing my clients to have color that is timeless, that will never go out of style. That compliments their skin tone along with their individual style all while keeping the integrity of their hair in great condition. There has been many times of trial and error along the way but practice makes perfect. By combining techniques I’ve learned with my natural eye for the craft I have been able to give my clients their desired result. My clients come to me because I believe in less is more. It’s not always a major project, sometimes a few foils can go a long way especially when achieving the natural, beachy, boho vibe we have all grown to love over the years!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a native to Arizona, I’ve done it all. If a friend was visiting, I would of course take them to some of the best brunch spots Old Town, Scottsdale has to offer; Montauk, Sumo Maya, Maple and Ash. We are so lucky to have some amazing hiking trails and if the weather permits a jolt up Camelback Mountain is the perfect way to start off the day! Arizona being a sort of tourist destination, our resort pools are some of the best! We would of course catch some rays and sip some cocktails before getting ready to head to an awesome dinner. Whether it be Steak 44, Mission, or Toca Madera, you really can’t go wrong when going out to enjoy a delicious meal with some awesome cocktails. I would also show them Sedona. It speaks for itself and is a must see destination when visiting our state!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Through out my journey I have had so much support from my friends and family. I can honestly say they are my biggest cheerleaders and constantly remind me that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. The journey to get where I am today wasn’t an easy one and I’m not sure if I would be here today without their constant encouragement.
