Meet Asia Mcqueen | Salon owner & Blonding Extension Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Asia Mcqueen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Asia, how do you think about risk?
When it comes to taking risk, I always think it through. I weigh the pros and cons and figure out a back up plan and always create a safety nest for myself.
I tend to always end up taking the risk in life wether it’s to move into a place that cost more so I push myself harder to earn more, or start a new business in a new state like I did with opening up my own salon.
I like the pressure or feeling I guess of possibly failing and knowing I have to give whatever I do in life 1000 percent effort or what was the point.
The only person I would be letting down in the end is myself if I didn’t try.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a new business owner in the Scottsdale area, originally from Seattle WA.
I started my career back in 2010 as a young hairstylist with a dream of being something big and well known.
Along the way trials came along with family, health and finances that’s caused me to get distracted or discouraged but I always had a desire to keep going because I knew who I was ment to be.
Nothing in life was handed to me I’ve worked hard for everything. I started from the bottom and worked my way up and when I felt like there was no more room for growth I moved on to the next.
Being held back or feeling like I’m stuck doesn’t sit well with me.
I knew my next achievement would be to go on my own and build up a salon that I would allow and inspire other stylist in the industry to do as well.
And that’s where I am in life now
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends come into we always do breakfast at Snooze I’m kierland commons. Hike pinnacle peak, do lunch somewhere in DC ranch market place. Grab dinner at toca Madera or steak 44 and espresso martinis at AZ 88
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Always thankful to the most high, along with my family & spouse Matthew
