We had the good fortune of connecting with Atllas Hopkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Atllas, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Through our grant giving cycle and donationsWe provide small, homegrown local nonprofits a solid foundation and fair opportunity to further pursue their goals and initiatives geared towards social change. Through our frequent community service and partnerships we not only provide hands on support to our community and the organizations within it , but we also build connections and relationships with those we’re working and building with. Through community cleanups, middle school campus remodels, tending to community gardens and giving very generous donations to other nonprofits do we impact our community the way WE like to.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Currently I am an incoming senior at Arizona State University majoring in Architectural studies with a minor in business. I have been currently interning at PHX Architecture the last 3 years as well as being apart of many extracurriculars such as being on the executive board for my fraternity 2 years in a row and of course SEED Philanthropy; which happens to be the worlds first all African American youth philanthropic group. With a very busy schedule, It can definitely be overwhelming and at times difficult however what keeps me motivated to keep going is the thought of the positive work I am doing is contributing to something bigger than my life and bigger than myself. I set very high expectations for myself day in and day out and i make a conscious effort to not only meet but exceed those goals everyday. SEED Raised $50,000 dollars within our first year of being founded and that motivated me to hit a goal of $100,000 within the next year. With ambitions of being one of the greatest architects to ever do it, I dedicate hours and hours to my craft and work myself to exhaustion in the pursuit of self improvement and changing the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting the first place I would take them would have to be the Japanese Friendship Garden downtown. Its very peaceful, scenic and a great place to take pictures. Its not a very “Arizona-esque” spot but I think it is a hidden gem within the state as a whole.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a huge shoutout to my parents, the members of Real Engagement Through Active Philanthropy (REAP) my good friends Jaam, Basil, Charles and of course the rest pf my fellow SEED brothers! All have been a very great support system that have not only assisted me in my professional pursuits but also have been great companions to me in this journey of life that I am forever grateful for.
