We had the good fortune of connecting with Bentley Siimone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bentley, how do you think about risk?
So glad you asked. People who know me well know my best kept secret and I’m so grateful for this moment to share it with you. I think risk are the best thing that God has gifted us. I view risk as the caffeine of life. Something about defying fear that wakes you up. You need that certain mindset to keep you elevated. The biggest thing about my entire entertainment industry career is the fact that I took the risk. Two kids, one baby in each arm, I took the leap. Quit my 9-5 mail order phT position and I jumped off the ledge. Mind you, I had no updated portfolio photos, no guaranteed gigs, no website prepared, no mentor, no agent, no experience in hair or make up, just my big risk. Wow! Becoming a frequently booked not tall enough 5’2, considered “fat” petite model (according to typical upscale brick-and-motar agency standards) has been an experience I cherish so much. The thing about risk is, people think of their own hidden agendas and they figure risk to feel like…speed, rugged roads, friendships, harmony. When love has a whole ‘nother plan for you. Nobodies gonna get it. Nobodies gonna understand why you want to simply be yourself, even if you’d be a great asset to their team. Also, don’t expect your spouse or friends to coddle your ambition. Even without the cheerleaders your decisions still don’t have to damage your well-being. It may not happen fast for some. Sometimes taking a risk is a slight change. Your life doesn’t have to be put in full jeopardy in order for one to feel satisfied in a day. Living in full fulfillment doesn’t have to be spontaneous. You may be taking quiet risk only you know about. Jaunting over my own occurrences I notice, now, that there’s a few instances where I could’ve planned better. I love that I’m now %100 devoted to my passion. This juncture of wonderful happenings may’ve had the chance to be mapped out. I didn’t think of any of that when I indulged in this full on “warrior spirit”. It’s been so fun. And even with all my great “pace yourself” advice, I have to admit, I’ve had some great times not knowing there’d be the opportunity on that specific day at that specific time. It’s all about you. How you pray, how you move in a day. We all should do what’s best for our families. Happiness is so worth the exhilaration. I encourage anyone thinking of doing something healthy out of the ordinary to go for you! We all have different things we do well. Be all you can be! As humanity I believe that is how we’ll thrive. Thank you all for having me. It’s been a pleasure. Go-To Mantra “Bent the rules, Embraced the curve.” -Bentley Siimone
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Busy… busy. Love what I’m doing professionally. Content creating has become such a giant sea-like wave in my mind. Sometimes I’m at the eye of the storm in my rinky dink fisher boat and other times I’m at sea being tossed around hanging on to the side rails. Things have been going really well at my new virtual modeling agency. It’s the creative control, its all the call-backs for me. I am completely busy professionally occupying the directors chair, doing my own glam, styling my own models, picking out my own set, editing my own content, being my own talent and I am absolutely enjoying myself. Finally. This is what praying is all about. My boutique is dropping new merch. Soon come further promotional campaigns for that. Professional has taken on such a new meaning going from corporate to industry. It sounds so much like work and it is becoming that, but it’s also great exercise and beautiful way to be able to be a full time parent.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here in Arizona you gotta know where to go, to know where to be, if you know what I mean. On my list for kick ass day trips I’m taking my friend to Sedona! On Monday to Vino Zona. We’ll do wine tasting there. Well spend the rest of the day hiking, stop for some yoga, take a boat out on the lake. This next day, Tuesday will be the full on modern southwest experience. I’m taking my friend horse back riding at Serenity Stables in Chandler. Following up with some grub from Cherish Farms Eatery also in Chandler and head over to O’Kellys in Mesa for a great night cap. That following day may be a doozy so I’m ordering my friend a hangover IV Drip from mobileivdripaz.com. We are going to order some Uber Eats from Daily Jam. We’ll veg out recover. Later in the afternoon, early evening we’ll head to OdySea Aquarium in Scottsdale, Do something chill and nonchalant. More and likely go to Franco’s Italian Caffe also in Scottsdale for dinner. Thursday I’m taking my friend for mini golf at Imagine 3D Mini Golf in Gilbert. Since marijuana is recreational we may stop at truBliss in Mesa on the way there to grab some edibles, flower, what have you. Because MY friend is going to want to smoke for this, lol. Afterward you can find my friend and I at Superstitions Springs Mall in Mesa. Trying on clothes and grubbing on candy bags. Friday we’re turning up. We’re going to the Maya Dayclub in Scottsdale to get in the pool. We may stay for a few hours. Go back to our room, freshen up, grab some food at Wrights inside the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix. Then head to Bottled Blonde in Scottsdale for a great after party. Might be too cute to stay long and finish our night at Oasis Hookah lounge walking distance from Bottled Blonde. My friend is flying home tomorrow, before she leaves I wanna put everything back better then the way I found it. I’m scheduling my friend and myself a 60 minute massage at Massage Envy. They are a valleywide franchise so we’ll go where they can get us in. We’ll grab some dunch (dinner and lunch) at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Phoenix. Then see what the Arizona Science Center in Downtown Phoenix is all about. This is a chill Saturday night we’ll head to Stand Up Live in Phoenix to avoid staying out too late before her flight. I’m going to miss my friend so much, so after breakfast at LoLos in Scottsdale we’re going to dress alike and go to Image Shots at the Desert Sky Mall to have some keepsakes made just like old times. Now my friend has something to take home with her. What a great way to spend the week in AZ.
