We had the good fortune of connecting with Bethany McGrath and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bethany, why did you pursue a creative career?
I started my creative business because I was struggling to find something that filled me up. I was taking care of our two boys all day & just felt empty at the end of each day. This has fulfilled parts of me that I didn’t know I needed.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started making pacifier clips of all things, & I fell in love with the process. From there, my business has expanded to apparel for moms & kids. I love designing & working on the apparel & seeing others get excited for it as well. Most of my challenges have come from the doubt in myself. I am the only one who has held myself back. It’s a constant battle of my mind deciding if it’s worth doing this. I go through seasons of no passion & no creative juices flowing, but then something hits me, & I find that creativity again. I’m learning to believe in myself more!
My company is for moms/babies mostly, but my apparel tells the story of miracles, after my husband & I had 7 miscarriages & 2 healthy full-term sons that are now 2 & 4 years old!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love love love food! I would definitely take her to my favorite restaurants & coffee shops: Joe’s Farm Grill, Mythical, La Parilla Suiza, Barrio Queen, Liberty Market, etc
I also would take her to walk around San Tan Mall & grab some Frost gelato. We most likely would just lay by a pool during the day & relax in the AZ sun.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband truly is the first person I should shout out because he believed in me & let me do my thing! He hasn’t held me back at all. My friends/inner circle have also been such a blessing/encouragement to me in this venture.
