We had the good fortune of connecting with Brent Orsuga and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brent, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me I was raised in an entrepreneurial environment, so the hustle and grind was embedded in me at a young age. When I started Pinnacle Growth Advisors in 2014, the biggest thing I thought of was there will never be a perfect time to take the jump. I could have delayed that leap for years, but actually taking the jump and never giving myself a plan B was what led me to the success we have achieved to date.
I think a lot of people try to wait for the “perfect time” and the reality is, life simply does not work that way. It starts with self-belief, a tenacious drive, and support from those around you. There will be many times where it is just you fighting and clawing for momentum and small wins, but you have to be your biggest cheerleader.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Pinnacle Growth Advisors out of a bedroom in 2014 from literally nothing. No dollars, no clients, no website just a hope and a dream. My focus was just to “win the day” and build momentum which I know would compound over time.
I never gave myself a timeline of a “let me try this”, a plan B or any alternative. Once I took that leap my identity was forged and this was who I am and what I am building.
We have almost doubled every year since inception and are the leading talent advisory firm in our niche.
The company is named after Pinnacle Peak, which is a place we have hiked 1000x and listened to podcast, and mastered the art of self-talk.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I for sure would include hiking of Toms Thumb, Pinnacle and Camelback. I would take them to eat at Toca Madera and Dominicks, we would shop at Kierland and the Quarter.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Being a part of the Arizona Chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) has been a big help in surrounding myself around other business people I can lean on.
And my wife Susannah, my children Blair and Blythe, and all of our support team who drive me daily to perform at a high level, and give me the ability to do that.
