We had the good fortune of connecting with KRYPTiC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KRYPTiC, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe the most important factor behind my recent success is maintaining consistency. Being consistent is one of the most difficult things to do in the music industry because everything is always changing and fluctuating. I pay attention to very small details that most people look over and make sure everything is up-to-par with the industry standard. When I’m in the studio staying up late to make sure a mix comes out perfect or when I’m designing flyers for my tour with all the details, everything has to be consistent and on point. I think that translates with my audience well and they see how hard I work to make sure everything is presentable. My work ethic is consistency driven so no matter what I’m doing I make sure it gets done in a timely manner and proficiently.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that art is the purest form of expression. I have a sound that is very difficult to replicate because I never make the same song twice. I want every song to feel like it’s own emotion. I’m very proud of how diverse my music is to traditional rap and the new wave of hip hop but still relevant and fresh. I’ve been doing music for 11 years now so I’ve never experienced that “overnight success” like some artists. I’ve always been driven and consistent, I think that builds you a core following that will help you have true longevity in music. I live by the phrase “Born Broke, Die Famous” because I was born into poverty and want to leave this earth known for changing the lives that supported me while I was in those lowest points. I want the world to remember me for being a loving father and a revolutionary, innovative artist.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well we’d have to stay at the Best Western InnSuites because their pool is incredible and their staff is super welcoming, then we’d hit this amazing Mexican-Style Restaurant right around the corner for dinner, and on our way back we grab some drinks and lay back poolside next to palm trees and enjoy the sunset!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my personal DJ, DJ Byro! We’ve been rocking together for almost 4 years now and I wouldn’t be in the position I am in without her. DJ Byro is one of the hardest workers and networkers I know and is never afraid to help artists propel themselves forward in music. She has given hundreds of opportunity to artists by throwing events and working with some of the best in the business. Having one of my closest friends and die hard fans behind the 1’s & 2’s is the best combination any artist could ask for. We’re so in-sync when we are both on stage and she can tell exactly what the crowd wants to hear, most of the time I don’t even pick my setlist, she does!
