We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cameron, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
If I’m being honest, it was due to my mom’s passing. I had so much pain inside and I felt I needed to let those emotions out. When I did, I also found out that I actually love creating music.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is that I’m not afraid to speak from my own life and tell what happened. Too often, artists follow other artists and try to talk about the same thing. That isn’t authentic to me. Everyone’s story is different…no two people are the same. I would say I’m proud of the connections I’ve made with certain celebrities but I still have a long way to go.

I wouldn’t say I’m a professional artist just yet because I am not worldly renowned but I’ve come this far by perseverance. Too many times I wanted to give up but something inside won’t let me.

A big lesson I learned is that you cannot trust what people say that can do for you. Most times, when people say they can help you, it’s something you could’ve done by yourself.

I want people to know that my brand is undefined. I’m a bit of a mystery so you will never know what to expect.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would honestly take them to all the places that shaped me. I would take them to Mercy hospital where I was born. I would take them to the apartment where me and my mom lived when she was alive. Places like these are more special to me than a restaurant because you have memories there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my mom because without her, I wouldn’t be here…literally. I love and miss you so much.
