We had the good fortune of connecting with Rico 3D and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rico, why did you pursue a creative career?
Creativity comes naturally for me. I’ve always wanted to use that creativity to do something amazing. I’ve also always had a passion for music. I can remember scouring the internet for new music at an early age. I used to spend hours on my aunts old desktop searching YouTube for all types of music. It only seemed natural to put my creativity and love for music together .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music has been a part of my life since I can remember. Whether it was dancing, singing, trying to write raps, or learning to play instruments I’ve been immersed in something musical. Honestly everything just happened in its own time. I got introduced to recording in studios & fell in love with the process. I loved hearing a finished song in my head & building it out from scratch. I also loved seeing peoples reaction when I’d play my music and tell them “that’s me”. It has been a long journey since I first started and it hasn’t always been easy. Sometimes so the motivation isn’t there or I have trouble reaching out to new fans and seeing results but, it’s all worth it in the end knowing I’m creating art unique to me. I take pride in knowing my music sounds good & makes people bob their head every time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s a good question for sure. I honestly don’t have specific places I hang out too much. I’m a very go with the flow type of guy so we’d just have to figure it out on the fly.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First & foremost always goes to the most high! The reason we’re all here.

I thank my ancestors everyday for paving the way for me to be here.

My guardian angels for protecting me.

My family for raising me to be free, expressive, and nurturing my creative spirit the best they could.

Big Choze (Kamil Jones) my brother & one of my closest friends helped me in so many ways on my journey. I recorded my first verse ever with him in a computer lab. He always encourages me & keeps me going.

Lil Biggie (Leek) & the whole “3D” brought me to my first real studio session which inspired me to actually start making music & putting it out for the world to hear. Those guys helped shape the entire beginning of my career & made sure I had plenty to talk about in my music lol. I know I can always count on them to help me push my campaign.

L$D (Jdot Hussein & Uno Juune) currently we comprise the collective known as L$D. I can say they are easily some of the most talented artists I know, and two of my closest friends. They bring the heat every track which keeps me on my A game.

Every artist I work with currently: 3D Ralph, 3D Tayo, FxrcedNarritive (FN), 410 Noodlez, Grove Youngn, 216 B Rose, BTS Zayy, Reise Fye, YB France, Ace Osama, AKA Ellio and any artist I may have left out or will work with in the future.

Last but not least my supporters. Every single person who streams, shares, talks about, makes reels or TikTok’s to my music.

Thank you all!
