We had the good fortune of connecting with Cari Gililland Associate Broker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cari Gililland, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Over the years I have learned so many valuable lessons in each business venture and opportunity. When I look back I think that one thing has remained constant…I love a good challenge. I love learning new things and opportunities for growth. I am most successful and productive when I have structural tension in my life. This tension keeps me from becoming complacent and pushes me to stay focused on activities that will move the needle on my goals. When challenges arise I remind myself that I can do hard things! It is so important to believe in yourself and look for opportunities to learn and grow.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a lifetime entrepreneur!! I have always been self-employed and cannot imagine my life any other way. I have been selling real estate full-time since 2002. I love what I do! Being a Realtor means that I am able to help people through so many milestones in their lives.
A house is so much more than just a house. A house is where a newlywed couple begins their life together, new parents bring their baby home to, families celebrate lives special moments together, a place where you come home to after long day. A house is a place where you can let your creativity flow, a place to rest and refresh when life is hard. A house is a tool to create wealth and watch your money grow. A house is a place to plant your roots and call your own. The feeling of homeownership is like no other. A real estate transaction to me is not just a transaction, it is a relationship that I am building and a family that I am serving. I never take that for granted.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love to stroll the downtown Gilbert area. Breakfast at the Liberty Market, wine at Postinos, Pizza at Pomo and some drinks and music at Whiskey Row makes for a great day! We have a couple of must visit favorites in our hometown of Queen Creek too. We are regulars at Sushi Creek with a standing date night with our granddaughter every Thursday night. And I am a big fan of the Queen Creek Olive Mill for a lazy weekend lunch.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It is no secret that no one succeeds alone. I have so many people who have supported me, mentored me and cheered me on in my life. That list would be so long it would contain many pages of names for each chapter of my life. My family is the foundation for everything in my life. We have been blessed with 3 amazing daughters who I am so incredibly proud of an da two grandkids who make life so much sweeter. My mom is my best friend and I have a great crew of friends who always have my back. That being said, I would be remiss not to recognize and shout out my amazing husband Rob first and foremost. He has always been supportive of any of my ideas, projects, dreams and ventures. He believes in me no matter what and allows me to grow without holding me back. We have a wonderful life together and a great partnership and marriage. He knows better than anyone that I can be stubborn, head strong and over bearing yet he continues to love and support me every day. We have been married for almost 29 years and I am so thankful for him. Without him lifting me up on the days when I feel like I can’t go any further I would never be able to accomplish anything.
