We had the good fortune of connecting with Colleen Quinn Quinn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Colleen Quinn, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is consistency. As a creative, I think at times we can be our own worst critic, which can sometimes prohibit us from displaying our work or moving forward into a new challenge within our work. For me, I have found that I am never 100% ready for each opportunity that comes my way, but I’ve learned that is not a bad thing and how you grow in your business and craft! With this perspective in mind, I think that being consistent with my craft and my content on social media has given me an advantage in my business and my current success because it shows that I am determined and continue to work hard no matter what challenge is thrown my way. In addition, being consistent has let me to opportunities I may not have had otherwise. For example, attending networking events (in 2019), even when I did feel tired or rather have stayed home. Always trying to form new relationships with people within the industry and being sure to ask questions and be honest when I don’t know the answer to something! Remaining consistent through 2020 has helped me grow and develop my brand across the board because it has developed habits within my daily life that continue to lead me down the right path to achieve future success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love this! The main thing that sets me apart from other within my business is my personality! I have always been told my personality shines through in everything that I do no matter what. It is important to me as a stylist to always be my authentic self through my personality and get to know each and every one of my clients that I have the opportunity to work with. Starting a business and putting yourself and the talents you have out there for the world to see is far from easy. It has been a difficult journey to say the least. I overcame a variety of challenges through building my personal brand to launching my styling business and developing a designer brand. The main advice I want to share with the world is to never give up on yourself and keep pushing! There will be months or even years when no one believes in you other than yourself, but if you can see the vision and the goal ahead, you can achieve it. Trust the process and understand that the roadblocks and challenges that you face are purposeful to grow you into a stronger version of yourself for the world to see.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to go out to eat and enjoy local spots. I definitely would take my best friend to one of my favorite local, Italian restaurants named Delfalco’s Italian Eatery off Scottsdale road. It has hands down the best pasta and garlic bread in the area! In addition, I would take them to Doughbird, which is a local spot in Arcadia. They have hands down the best Margartia pizza ever! Speaking of margaritas, if I were to take my best friend to get drinks, I would recommend McFate Brewery. They have some of the best local beers and margaritas I have ever had. I would definitely show my best friend around the Downtown Phoenix Art District and explore local shops and stores. I think that area really does show the beauty and uniqueness that Phoenix brings to Arizona. If we were in the mood to go somewhere with more of a small town vibe, I would recommend a mini road trip to either Prescott or Flagstaff! During the Fall/ Winter months I enjoy visiting these areas to get in the holiday spirit and enjoy a change of weather and scenery. Lastly, since I am a Fashion Stylist / Designer, I would definitely love to introduce to them my creative group of friends and show them what a day in the life looks like for me! Possibly even plan their own photoshoot of some kind could be fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to dedicate this shoutout series to all of my amazing supporters! If it wasn’t for their constant support through my journey developing my business and brand, I wouldn’t be where I am today in my journey of success. Support makes such a difference when you first start a brand / business, it sometimes can make or break you and your success. To me, it has always been super important that I surround myself with individuals that support and uplift me in my craft and daily life. Your circle truly does determine your future! In addition, it is super important to recognize that people are only going to believe in you, if you believe in yourself! I’ve learned that throughout my career as a business owner, being my biggest fan has been super important in my success. People will support you when they feel you support yourself. I definitely attribute my success to those who support me day in and day out no matter what. I wouldn’t be in the position I am in today without my amazing supporters and clients!
