We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Boymistruk and Krystel Sam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, Krystel, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
“Physical presence does not mean productivity” C|K When we first started C|K stud.io we worked really hard to keep a “normal” business schedule. We learned that in order to be really productive and creatively productive, we needed to not limit our selves to a traditional work schedule. We found a lot a balance doing this because it allowed us to become very efficient with the time we allotted to produce and design. When COVID-19 hit, the system we had in place made the balance of working from home easier. The balance is very important to nurture your mind and body in order to be creative.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart is our ability to be our realest self, no sugar coating, no false promises, no non sense. We are most proud of all the accomplishments we have received since we started C|K stud.io in 2016. Business wise, it has been a lot of trial and error, tears and sacrifice. It has not been easy, but were still here! I don’t think you ever overcome the challenges, you learn and apply what you’ve learn and move on. We want the world to know that we are genuinely, unapologetically honest and fun designers that will guide you and help you with your design needs. Whatever they may be!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Breakfast at Elly’s Brunch & Cafe. Yoga class at The Sweatshop on Central. Spin class at The Madison Improvement Club. Movie at ALAMO Drafthouse – Chandler. NOOK Kitchen for Dinner, Arcadia. Cocktails at Bourbon & Bones, Scottsdale. Cocktails at Bitter & Twisted. Cocktails at Undertow. Dinner & Cocktails at Century Grand and Platform 18. A show at the VanBuren! There are so many places in PHX, its hard to narrow it down!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to our very first jobs in design that taught us everything that we know! We now have a better understanding of the decisions that our bosses made in the past. A huge shout out to our clients that have believed in us from the beginning!
