We had the good fortune of connecting with Dani Bradley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dani, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always had a drive towards entrepreneurship. I opened up my first business at 19 years old in my hometown of Wisconsin, renting out a salon suite and offering nail services. I built up my clientele and eventually leased an entire building with a full staff. When I moved out to Arizona, I wanted to try something different. I sold my salon back home and my husband and I began dabbling in Airbnb. I thought it would be a good time to get my real estate license since we intended to acquire a few properties to start that business. What started out as a convenient way to have MLS access, turned in to a full fledge real estate business with me joining several MLS associations to help others buy and sell properties here in The Valley, Flagstaff and Sedona.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Real estate is a popular sport in Arizona, that’s for sure! There is no shortage of realtors. I think for a buyer or seller, it’s important that they find someone to work with that they enjoy, trust and can count on daily. The transaction may only take 30-60 days but there are so many conversations and negotiations that take place throughout that timeframe. If you don’t like and trust who you are working with or can’t count on them to answer their phone or keep on top of the details, it is going to be an awful time! If you talk to any of my past clients, what you will continually hear is that they never had to wonder what was going on. I pride myself on overly communicating. I don’t expect my clients to understand all the ins and outs of real estate. That’s my job to educate and guide them through the process. I want it to be enjoyable for them!
Being personally invested in the Arizona real estate market, gives me a greater understanding of the market. Aside from our primary home in Arcadia, my husband and I own several Airbnb’s and long-term rentals in Scottsdale. Investing in real estate in general is one of the safest and most lucrative forms of investment. Investing in Arizona, in particular, has been especially rewarding. I love to help people get in the game here!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Most of our family still lives in the Midwest, so we have pretty much become expert itinerary makers at this point! Locally, we have to make the rounds at our favorite restaurants which include “Nook” here in Arcadia. They have the BEST pizza and unique cocktails. For novelty entertainment, we have done it all… Medieval Times, Bam Kazam, AX throwing, and even duckpin bowling at Cham Pang Lanes! For a fun day trip and cooler weather, Sedona or Flagstaff are a must. I am mostly up there for real estate purposes, so it’s always fun when I can convince the family to head there for pure leisure purposes! The Airport Loop Trail, in Sedona is a great trail for beginners and gives you breathtaking views. It is also the location of one of the famous “vortexes”. Afterwards, head to Shorebird for yummy food and more great views! There are so many great things to do in Arizona!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One thing I noticed right away when I moved to Scottsdale is how many other entrepreneurs we have here! It was so exciting to tap into that community. I have met so many amazing business owners, including other realtors, and we have helped and encouraged each other throughout the years.
I also recently partnered up with fellow HomeSmart Realtor, Katie Rosenquist, and it’s made real estate all that much more fun! It’s true when they say you can accomplish more together. Sometimes it takes two!
I believe who you choose to surround yourself with is so important. One of the moves I made a couple years ago was to join a local business group. The one I am a part of meets weekly in Gilbert. Surrounding myself weekly with other successful entrepreneurs, has been invaluable. We encourage one another, hold each other accountable, and also support each other’s businesses through referrals.
