We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Pilo Renaissance and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Pilo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The reason I decided to pursue a creative career as a Content Creator is due to the lack of quality content being displayed currently in the media. Now more than ever there is a need for truth that our consumers are needing to hear.
We are currently in the midst of a US Presidential election year and our people are unaware of what is currently at stake. I believe with my content, there will be a deeper understanding and awareness of the World around us and will hopefully push for a better and brighter future.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is entitled, Pilot Lite Productions, LLC founded in August 2020. I’ve spent many years helping other businesses thrive and thought it was time for me to start a business of my own.
I have previously worked in Politics, Corporate America, and currently a public school educator.
The reason behind the name is that I like to think of myself as a pilot light, the light the continues to state lit even when all of the other lights have gone out. Light can come in many different forms, from knowledge to awareness which leads to ultimately the truth.
I started during the pandemic, which was a time we all sat in our homes contemplating on what will be our next moves in life.
Anytime you start a business it will come with self-doubt, especially when you tend to compare yourself to other people. I had to learn that I am my own competition, and that no one can believe in you until you believe in yourself.
I also learned that trials and tribulations will come expected and unexpected. It is up to you to decide whether or not you’re going to allow those moments to stop you, or will you continue to push through the adversity because of the vision you see in the end?
What I want the World to know is that I am a mere vessel being used by God, and will continue to do His Work by any means.
My newly upcoming and syndicated Podcast entitled ‘Point of View #Uncensored’ is a legendary body of work in the making. ‘Where views are based on facts and not feelings.’ I would encourage you all to tune in and watch. I guarantee that you will not only be enlightened, but also entertained.
I leave you all with this scripture:
”Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.“ Matthew 5:14-16 KJV
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would go for a walk in Piedmont Park to enjoy God’s nature. I also love game nights, so anytime if my other friends are having one, I’ll be sure to go for some friendly competition. My major hobbies are bowling, playing pool, and skating. I would then take my friend to a lounge or brunch spot for some chill vibes..
Atlanta has so many great places to offer like Ponce City Market, Edgewood, or Buckhead lounges, my friends usually never want to leave.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first shout out would have to be to the Most High, God. For without Him, there would be no purpose for what I am doing.
I also love thank my family (Mother, Father, two sisters and two brothers). The are my core group that helps sustain me and encourage me in everything I do. Special Shoutout to my sister, Delaney A. Yancey aka Troy Fayola for recommending me to do this interview.
My third acknowledgment is to my Black Man Lab family. This amazing group of men nurture me to be a better man each and every Monday.
