We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Colby and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samuel, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
I invented the CorePump Machine, which is the smallest, most versatile hydraulic circuit gym in the world. This invention has been very impactful to the world for those that are concerned with their health, time, and space. COREPUMP® MACHINE IS SIMPLE. Time is money, and going to the gym can be a huge drain on both. With a 2’x2′ footprint, the CorePump® Machine is small enough to fit virtually anywhere, so that 10 minute window in your busy day is enough time for a complete total-body workout. COREPUMP® MACHINE IS REVOLUTIONARY. The CorePump® Machine has infinite exercise possibilities. With over 66 possible handle positions, 6 settings of Smart Resistance®, and an adjustable platform, you quickly see how you are limited only by your imagination. The CorePump® Machine doesn’t require electricity, it is whisper quiet and it will outwork any piece of fitness equipment on the market today.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been an exercise and rehab specialist for 20 years now and have always had a knack for creating better “mouse traps.” In my career as a strength and conditioning coach I realized that most traditional exercise equipment is dangerous, hard to figure out, and takes up quite a bit of space. I came up with the idea of the CorePump while pumping up stability balls at a fitness bootcamp I was teaching in Peoria, Arizona in 2007.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to a few places. First I would take them to Scottsdale for an enjoyable all you can eat sushi buffet restaurant called Akita. Then I would take them to Wickenburg to go horseback riding and shooting guns in the desert. Next I would take them to Sedona to go hiking and look at all the gem shops. Finally I would take them up to Flagstaff to stay in an RV off grid.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am really thankful for creating a health machine that was built for our current times. Never before has there been a need for something like the CorePump Machine as there is now. Only 6% of people are going back to the gym and over 80% of people are making exercise a priority. I truly feel blessed by God and the Universe for inspiring me with this idea more than 10 years ago.
