We had the good fortune of connecting with Dujhan Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dujhan, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Awww… what was the single most important decision I made that contributed to my success? The most recent most important decision I made was believing in my abilities to be better and to do better. Around 2020 I began to start more positive affirmations and such. I needed to take all of the responsibilities and “ride the wave” so to speak. I needed to continue to visualize my success and be “even keeled”. I told myself that I needed to “wave” my flag high. I said this because, “Who else is going to wave your flag but you?” Believing more in my abilities and my strengths helped me conceptualize my most recent successes and failures and take them all in stride. Most of all I learn to master the ability of “playing angry”. I tend to do a lot of reflection. They say… all it takes it the faith of a mustard seed.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My day-to-day “job” is being a full time active law enforcement Police Officer. I hold my noble profession in high regard and I have empathy for everyone around me. I understand that being African-American in a field that is turbulent is very difficult. I enjoy my interactions with the public because positive contacts can be transformative in the greatest regard. My other passion is acting. I enjoy being creative and free of “rules” and enjoying the character. I enjoy seeing where the art is going to take me. I always approach both my law enforcement career and acting career in a humble passion. I do not believe in complacency so growth is and will always be my ultimate goal.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For starters we would probably grab breakfast. I’m pretty simple so for me..IHOP will do just fine. After that we would probably relax until the food coma subsided and then go to the gym. I enjoy all gyms in the valley but for right now I’m at Esporta or La fitness. During the night time we could go to the cobra bar or axe throwing. I always like to do something challenging and exciting. I truly enjoy going to comedy shows. There’s such a strong, energetic group of people on the stage and in the crowd. Downtown Phoenix is the best place for that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to “shout out” Desaray Klimenko. Desaray is such a strong woman. She personifies what success and true help is in this day and age. She has been my rock and the love of my life for a while now. Desaray is a lead clinician who makes a positive impact everyday. She is an ASU graduate with her Masters Degree and she is always striving for more. She has never met a goal she couldn’t accomplish. I wish more people could see her light. It’s truly contagious.
