We had the good fortune of connecting with Eve and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eve, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
An important factor behind me and the idea of what I try to embody and further represent is really fun fitness and fashion with a normal lifestyle. More fun and less pressure of motherhood and being a woman in my 30’s plus. I think that realness really resonates with many because I’m relatable. I wear what you wear, live where & how you live; and look and age the same way. I show the rawness of learning something new, and with time and hard work what results can be achieved.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love to rollerskate!! I grew up in California where rollerskating was very popular, so I was at the rink every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as a kid! Over time, I got other hobbies and life changes so skating stopped. Unexpectedly, my mother passed away 2 weeks after the birth of my son. For a year, I struggled with many obvious obstacles with those two huge life changing events. Then, as I mentioned before, skating resurfaced. So, I took my skills of skating and I started to learn how to rollerdance almost 2 years ago. Now, even though I love to skate, there are other aspects of myself that require more attention, and has helped me spark the creativity shown in my talent. I’m a mother and a middle school teacher. Everything you see is inspired by what I have learned in the books, through relationships and experiences, and with help. I’ve learned, you can’t do it on your own, you need a community. A community supports, loves, encourages, teaches, but also critiques. Positive improvements and affirmations are what I strive off of from my community. Don’t be afraid to accept help when offered and ask for it too. I know somethings have to take a seat back in my life, and that’s okay too. I can’t be super mom, the best teacher, a rollerskater, and me all by myself and all at once. I’m learning to roll with it all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in exciting Phoenix, Arizona, the opportunities for fun are endless!! I like to be active so much of what I enjoy is outdoors or busy. As a rollerskater, of course we are going to hit up the roller rink!! And best yet, Great Skate has the only all wood floor in the whole state, and it’s brand new!
We would also do some trail skating too! Tempe Town Lake has the best views and spots for skating around and jamming. You can also use their recreational sports they have in the area, like biking, scooters, and boating.
Hiking to chase a good sunrise or sunset would be on the list at Camelback mountain, South Mountain, or Piestwa Peak.
Downtown Phoenix has the best night to walk around the park at cityscape, catch a show, or sports game.
Old town Scottsdale has great night life to bar hop for a few drinks and hear some great music.
Now as for eating, where to begin. To get a great lunch, Miracle Mile is a great Mom and Pop places for American food.
So many Italian options, but Girmaldis, Rosso’s Italian and the Old Spaghetti Factory are amazing!
Food trucks Fridays or other truck events have been a great hit! This has exposed me to so many different kinds/styles of Mexican food.
Great mentions are Hurricane Harbor water park, Top Golf golfing range, Desert Botanical Garden. Plus more, how much money do we have??🙂😆

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m going to always keep it real, my family & the rollerskating community deserve all the credit. I may put in a lot of hard work, but my family not only affords me the time to explore this aspect of my life, but encourages me so much! With that support and love, I found the rollerskating community online and in person. It’s been the first sport I’ve been a part of where it’s community first, friendly competition second. I learn and grow, and now I’m able to help others learn and grown, like my daughters and several people in my community.
