We had the good fortune of connecting with Patherine (Panther) Charoenmins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patherine (Panther), we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think of risk as necessary for growth. If I did not take any risks, I would not be where I am today. At one point I had turned down a consulting role with a Fortune 500 company and left corporate life behind. I consider myself an entrepreneur and taking risks is something you have to be comfortable with. As for my personal life, one risk I took that paid off big time was when I went on a blind date and ended up meeting the love of my life, who is now my fiancé. As a result of some of these risks I took, I get to live my best life. My approach towards risk has evolved over the years. I want to leave your readers with this: Risk can be positive. Do not allow the thought of taking risks to cripple you from taking action. Consider your intent behind whatever risk you were planning to take. If you are doing it for yourself and your growth, that is worth it (no matter the outcome, there is always a lesson to be learned). If it is to seek validation or means you have to rely on someone else for that so-called risk to pay off, stop right there.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started Panther Eats to share spots that my fiancé and I visited around Arizona. In a way, it was meant to serve as a diary to remind me of the amazing times we experienced together. Now, Panther Eats has evolved to so much more. I use my social media platforms and blog to connect people to amazing businesses in the valley (you will find everything from food to experiences). What makes Panther Eats different would be how I approach content creation. I consider the best parts of the business and share them through storytelling. Taking my followers along on the journey with me.
The biggest thing I learned about being a content creator is that you must constantly learn new things and implement new trends or features immediately. It pays to be an early adopter.
I would love Panther Eats and my new blog, PantherRin.com, to be a trustworthy and inspiring place for people to discover the very best in Arizona and beyond. I am excited to use my new blog to share more than food and experiences. I plan to incorporate more helpful lifestyle content, travel guides, and everything else in between.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Funny you ask this question. My best friend was just asking for recommendations for a weekend in Phoenix and Scottsdale, here is what I told her. For a day in Phoenix, I would say start with breakfast at Valentine, spend time at the Phoenix Museum and Heard Museum, lunch at Pa’La, watch the sunset at The Rooftop at Cambria Hotel, dinner at Churchhill, and cocktails at Century Grand’s Platform 18. For a day in Scottsdale, I would recommend brunch at The Mission, stroll around Scottsdale waterfront, visit Wonderspaces, then head to Paradise Valley to Elements during sunset for an amazing dinner and a view. There are so many places to explore in Arizona. For more itinerary inspiration, feel free to visit my blog.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to several people. First off, my family, fiancé, and best friends, who have always believed in me even when I did not believe in myself. I would not be where I am without their love and support. Secondly, every single business that collaborated with me. Your trust in me means a great deal. Lastly, the amazing foodie girl group (which is our unofficial name). Our group is made up of amazing women, food content creators whose friendship and support are the definition of the quote “women empower women.”
