We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgianna and Giusseppi Dominguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Georgianna and Giusseppi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think that for is the most important factor behind G&G Home is the authenticity and believability. People that know us know that we live and breathe “home” and believe strongly in making beautiful memories together daily. It’s something that is in our blood and very apparent for even viewers who don’t personally know us. That’s why our slogan is truly what we use to describe G&G Home… “it’s a lifestyle, not a brand.”
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our professions have been something that truly have shaped us into who we are today. Georgianna has been a make-up artist since she was 16 years old and a Giusseppi has been in luxury sales right after high school. Both of our professions have taught us a lot but the main thing we have learned from our occupations is the importance of customer service. We pride ourselves in outstanding customer service and tackling uncomfortable situations head on but in a professional and respectful way. We’ve learned that it does not matter how good a product is or how beautiful a store is… if the service is not there or lacking, it creates a detrimental rift in the relationship between the owner/employer and the customers. Above and beyond service is what Giusseppi and I strive to provide. Where there is great service and great product, there you will find and keep your customers who then become your friends who then become your tribe that will follow you wherever you go.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love our city here in Chicago! We would definitely have to take he or she to brunch! Our favorite brunch shops are Lula Cafe, Southport Grocer and Sunny Side Up. After breakfast, we would have to stop at Leonids for an iced oatmilk malted or a dirty chai. Next, we would take them to NOMAD Chicago where there could browse beautiful home decor, books and even pick up a G&G Home candle! We would then make dinner reservations at either Bandera for some late night jazz and French dip sandwiches OR Ralph Lauren restaurant for the best lobster roll in town! A late night bite would have to be Portillo’s… chocolate cake shake is perfection!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our friends and family have been a HUGE support to us. They always up lift us to continue on this journey.
