Meet Gina Giuliano | Raise The Bar Rehab owner & physical therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gina Giuliano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gina, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Raise The Bar Rehab was created for those who hope to raise their standards on physical therapy care outside of the standard medical model.
Therefore our success relies on our amazing clients who want more for their health.
All too often people settle for subpar physical therapy simply because their doctor referred them to a particular company, or because a clinic is “right down the street”. However, their needs aren’t being met and they don’t see significant improvement which is why many people give up on physical therapy entirely.
At Raise The Bar Rehab our clients play a huge role in their success thanks to the solid relationships and the communication they have with their physical therapist.
It makes all the difference.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career and educational path are unique. After graduating with my doctorate in physical therapy I pursued a year-long orthopedic residency and earned my board-certified orthopedic specialization. This has been instrumental in my diagnostic ability and many clients come to me after being misdiagnosed by other providers over the years.
Following this I went through another 6 months of sports residency training where I had the opportunity to apply my orthopedic knowledge to the professional-level athlete. The movement analysis aspect of this education was unparalleled. Movement assessment is now a huge part of my practice and it’s amazing what is revealed about one’s pain when you simply watch them move.
I’ve learned that when it comes to learning and improving your practice, opportunities are always right around the corner. You just have to be willing to say yes.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love exploring the outdoors, so I recommend any hiking that allows you to either see the city or escape it (superstition mountains are great for this!)
We also have some amazing CrossFit communities in the Valley that are always open for drop-ins and you will meet some incredible people while you’re there (Hammer CrossFit, The Coop CrossFit, CrossFit Magna, just to name a few!)
Finally, you can’t go wrong supporting your local restaurants/businesses, and we have some excellent ones here:
Andreoli’s Italian Grocer – if you’re looking for some delicious italian food (I always am).
Goldwater Brewery – for a cold alcoholic beverage and stellar service.
Kaleidoscope Juice – for non-alcoholic, healthy beverages that make you feel like a new person.
Go check them out!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My business partner and husband Chris Noel, who is also a physical therapist for Raise The Bar Rehab, has been my biggest supporter in pushing me to follow my dreams and start this company. We love collaborating on the business and forming one giant family with the clients we treat.
