We had the good fortune of connecting with Hesok Pittman-Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hesok, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I hope by the time I want to retire from planning that I have fulfilled my destiny and legacy to the fullest. I’m hoping that I can pass down my company to my son and he can continue the legacy on in event planning. Professionally, I hope that I leave an imprint on event planning. I hope that the new generation will know our name. I’m hoping that the events & weddings we’ve planned will be remembered and not forgotten for a lifetime. My end goal is to just retire and travel the world with my husband.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an event planner. I had to do a lot of work to get to where I am today. It was not easy at all. Starting your business from ground up is a challenge. You have to get out there so individuals know who you are what you do, a lot of marketing, advertisements and so forth, so it wasn’t easy. I did a lot of research on how to get noticed and I found The Knot and Wedding Wire storefronts and once I found out the pricing and what it all entailed I joined to get a storefront with The Knot. I’ve learned that it takes a lot of sleepless nights, hard work, and dedication to make your business successful. I would like individuals to know that I didn’t get known instantly, no not at all I worked my butt off and I’m still doing that today because you can never stop if you want to be successful. I’ve been blessed to create the wedding and events of my clients dreams at an affordable cost. I love what I do and I hope I will continue for another 10 years to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend wanted to go out I would take them to Blue Martini In Phoenix. I love that place. They have live music or a DJ on specific nights, just incredible and the food is amazing. To have some fun and listen to music we would go to Skateland. This is the spot to get your skate on while listening to some grooves. I love to hike and so does my BFF we would take the CG trail it’s my favorite so I want my friend to experience that too.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to recognize my husband and my best friend. Robert & Dominique you both have been right there with me every step of the way. Each event and wedding Dominique has helped me tremendously at all events & weddings. Your support is immeasurable. Robert my love, thank you for always encouraging and supporting me, when I wanted to quit, you stood firm and let me know that I can’t quit, I can do this. I listened and we are here today because of the support you always gave me. I’m in debt to you. I love you both, thank you with all my heart!
