We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella Wilkey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isabella, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I graduated from Xavier Prep with the sole intent of pursuing film school in Los Angeles. At the time, my father was in the early stages of developing a new entertainment start-up and I spent every free minute working with him. As his project evolved, I became hyper focused on the talent casting and audition process as I had such a clear vision of how I thought that should be managed. The original plan was to hire a third-party company to help plan and promote the auditions but that just did not seem to make sense. I finally approached my dad with the proposal that I should form my own company and manage his auditions and casting as I understood his vision for the company. The rest is history. We held our first casting event in mid-2021 and cast his first group of shows. While I am primarily focused on casting for his upcoming launch in Phoenix (and expansion into Los Angeles and Dallas) this year – I have recently been approached to provide casting support for Fashion Week in NYC and have a new independent film project in development.

What should our readers know about your business?
I founded the Seekr Agency in 2021 to provide audition and casting support for all areas of alternative entertainment and new media, including scripted, unscripted, short-form, social media, comedy, talk, game, news and late-night formats intended for distribution on all types of platforms.

The idea was to bring a simple and transparent approach to discovering, nurturing, and managing new talent to its full potential. The entertainment landscape is changing so rapidly and with new streaming and subscription services coming online – the appetite and need for new talent is endless.

I have always loved the entertainment industry in every medium and I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work in the industry. I am committed to working harder than everyone else in the room to ensure I can grow and develop my business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Phoenix – we have so many options for restaurants, nightlife, and outdoor activities.

While I am always up to discover new places – I definitely have my favorite spots.

Coffee and Breakfast – I adore Schmooze (Old Town Scottsdale) and tend to schedule my coffee meetings there whenever possible, other favorites include La Grande Orange (Arcadia), and Lux Coffee (Central Phoenix).

Brunch – When I am in the mood to dress up for brunch its always Francine (Scottsdale), but if it’s going to be a lazy brunch in jeans and a baseball cap then its Dick’s Hideaway (16th & Bethany Home). If I have guests in town – the Montauk (Old Town Scottsdale) has great music, terrific energy, and is always a fun mix of locals and visitors to the area.

Lunch – For a nice leisurely lunch with friends its Pala (Downtown Phoenix) but if time is more of an issue or there is work to be done, then True Food at the Biltmore is perfect.

Dinner – Depending upon my day (and mood) this can vary greatly. I love the food and people at Publico on 7th Street (Midtown), Larder and The Delta (Downtown Phoenix), The House Brasserie (Old Town Scottsdale), and The Mission (Old Town Scottsdale).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad – always full of encouragement, tireless support, and a never ending source of positive energy and creative thinking.
