We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamison Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamison, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
We just keep going. Giving up isn’t an option for us. You can’t expect everything to be given to you without some work behind it and we plan to do that work. What helps us to keep going is thinking about where you are now and picturing how you wanted it back before you had it. Everyone gets caught up on what they don’t have in numbers, equipment and more; and at times, we do too but, looking at the accomplishments we made and having the mindset that you can do this is the best way to keep going for your dreams
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart from most acts is we work hard to maintain our appearance and try to make each song and show unique. We try to always upgrade our equipment to better our stage presence and of course practice as much as possible. Currently we are trying new things with writing songs to make each one better than the last. With all of this together and so much more I’m really proud of the dedication each member has to the best of their ability. Each of us want to be successful individually, but more importantly as a whole.
It’s not easy being in a band though. Especially with still being in the early stages, it’s like a marriage, but with four other people. Like anyone, we all get stressed at times and do wrong things and you just have to overcome those obstacles. In the end everyone knows this is bigger than just us; like literally someone got a tattoo of our band name which is absolutely crazy! There is so much more to talk about how to move on from issues. Sometimes a member has caused an issue internally or the band in genera has, but I think each member just sees what we have done and what we are doing and understands we have to work through it for us, and our fans.
What I’ve learned I’ve along the way is you might lose a lot of friends. You’ll have family telling you to give up, saying it’s not worth it. You might regain a family member or friend from inspiring them; or regain them only cause of success. Whatever your case may be, just don’t let them decide to give up on your dreams. You may notice a stranger will support more than a family member or friend; and whomever that stranger is, they are my true friend. Not everyone will be on your side and that’s okay. Just keeping working hard and don’t give up. As long as that makes you happy that’s all that matters.
I want people to remember that we are here to make a difference with music, we are here to listen to our fans, and encourage others to work hard on their goals. It will take a while for where you want to be, it will be hard, but you have to learn to love the journey to actually appreciate the goals you accomplish. We want our fans to connect with us and want to inspire them to do great things. We know it’s hard, but we are all a family here supporting each other.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I wouldn’t know where to take my best friend if they were visiting the area. Maybe I’ll show them the construction that we have and say whatever mall or amusement park will be here eventually. I’m so engulfed in music I’d realistically take them to see live music cause that’s just who I am. Might get annoying for the average person, but it’s what I enjoy. Heck, maybe we will play a video game or two.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d like to first thank our photographer, Tyler Christensen, who goes by @aprtre on Instagram. Right in the beginning he helped us with photos, filming, and bringing new ideas to our content and make sure it’s consistent and good quality. He truly has been a great business partner, but more importantly a great friend.
Next up is our artist, James Delvin, who goes by @jamersdesigner on Instagram. He has designed so much for us that helps us as a growing band look professional and look interesting. He brings great ideas to the table with past experience working with bands like Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, A Day To Remember, and Fall Out Boy. The list goes on and on. He deserves a lot more credit for what he’s done in the past and the present keeping the Punk Scene alive.
There are probably many more individuals that have come and gone helping us get to the next step in our careers and we truly appreciate everything that has been handed to us to keep going forward. This can’t be done with just us alone and we are thankful for everyone who’s helped.
