We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaslyn Ravenscraft and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaslyn, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think living outside of your comfort zone and taking risks is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Anytime I have taken a chance with something, it has turned into the biggest blessing or lesson. Taking risks keeps life exciting and fulfilling. Go do that thing you’re scared of!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and starting a blog before it was really a thing to do. I love writing and being creative, so my blog and social media are a great outlet for me to be artistic in any way I choose. I struggle with comparison and fear of judgement, but I have learned that comparison is the thief of joy and that it’s so important not to worry about what others think of you! I’m working on that everyday, but there is so much freedom in being yourself – whether it be in a blog post, Instagram story or first date. My goal is to inspire and entertain and I work hard to have my brand reflect that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am born and raised in AZ and I never get tired of exploring this state!! There is always a new bar to try or place to visit. A few of my favorite local places to eat are the Montauk in Old Town Scottsdale, Prep and Pastry and The Vig! For the best happy hour experience, the Alibi Rooftop Bar on top of the Canopy Hotel in Tempe is the best place to grab a pre-drink cocktail and catch an Arizona sunset. There are so many places to visit, but I always recommend a day trip to Sedona! The Old Town Farmers Market, downtown Gilbert and Camelback Mountain are great places to go in the Phoenix-metro area. I also love the Desert Botanical Gardens and Wonderspaces.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to all of the people in my life who have supported me, encouraged me, and believed in me. Thank you for helping me see the potential in myself and always being there for me.
