We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Krienert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the most important factor behind my success and the success of Rock Your Different is that I have never given up. I believe so much in our mission and what we are doing that I won’t let anyone tell me no. If they do, I just let that fuel me and then think of another way to do it. I work hard and am persistent and have tenacity.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Rock Your Different was started for Rory because he had to start wearing an eye patch at 13 months old. We are set apart from other clothing lines because we always donate a portion to something that sets our soul on fire. We are truly trying to make a difference in the world and are always looking to team up with others. We dream big and would love to team up with locals to help make a difference. It would be amazing to team up with sports players, artists or others from AZ.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting we would for sure take them on lots of hikes, The Gilbert Farmers Market, a day trip to Sedona. When we are local, we would check out some of the cool spots we have found around town just from exploring. Our favorite dessert spot is Sweet Dees in Scottsdale. We will drive a half hour each way just to check out their new theme. They always have something fun and new and it’s always tasty. We have a little hidden gem in Chandler that we always take all of our guests to called Pita Souvli. Their food is out of this world and the people who work there feel like family. For drinks you can’t go wrong in Downtown Chandler, there are so many fun places to check out and then you can just walk to the next place. The Ostrich is a favorite if you want to try out a new drink that you have never had before. For fun activities we paddle board down The Salt River often, like to go to Board and Brush or Top Golf for a fun afternoon, walk around ASU campus and Tempe Town Lake. If our guests were up for it we would for sure recommend a staycation. Our favorites with kids are AZ Grand and The Princess.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my shout out to my kids, Nicolette, Taylor and Rory. Rock Your Different was started for Rory because what makes him different is so visual, but in reality we are all different in a way unique to us and we should all be celebrating that. My husband and kids have stood behind me and cheered me one from day one. They have also helped with new designs and ideas of what foundations to donate too. Taylor just picked The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation for our new designs and the next design will benefit a coral reef restoration in Panama called Love For The Sea which Nicolette chose. My kids are behind a lot of what I do because I always want to make them proud and be someone they can look up to. If parents are trying to make a difference in the world, hopefully we pass that passion down to our kids.
