We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Apgar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In my search for ways to expand and grow my divorce mediation business, I started to face what I felt were deficiencies in the processes provided by the networking events and organizations I connected with. I also found that there were opportunities to improve the services that the networking organization offered its members, especially in the small business realm. Why couldn’t a networking organization become a “power” business group that actually represents each of its members at events and in advertising and marketing? Why couldn’t it take advantage of its current business connections to introduce and guide new businesses through the challenging process of formation and kick-off? With these ideas in mind, I formed Network Exchange to give a concierge approach to serving new businesses. It is always interesting to see how we find opportunities as we face challenges; turn YOUR challenges into business opportunities, because you probably aren’t the only person experiencing it!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Network Exchange was created to help others develop their business ideas no matter how small, without the excessive fees. I find passionate experts who contribute to helping business owners expand in various areas throughout business development. We are an inexpensive advertising platform, motivator, and information provider to those looking to create or expand their business.
I am very proud of the people who have helped me in the development of Network Exchange.
I felt a need to create a business networking platform to inform and educate small businesses on less expensive methods in creating a business. I had previous experience in the retail industry and spend a large amount of time reading and learning about the business market and I love to share it with our clients. I am a mother, a member of various networking groups of business owners, and understand the consumer market.
Creating any business has challenges and being able to change or adapt when necessary helped me overcome these challenges. I’ve learned to modify my ideas or structure to fit situations that work better. There is no way of knowing until faced with the opportunity.
Network Exchange is the building block in creating a business and staying informed of the latest business trends. Anyone with an idea or without an idea can learn about what it takes to create a business. A hobby can turn into a passive income, a life-changing experience can lead you towards developing an idea. Wanting to leave an unsatisfying job can motivate one into creating something they are passionate about and more fulfilling. The opportunities are endless and Network Exchange can help anyone in creating their ideas or an idea into a reality.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love New York City and there are endless places to visit and eat. I would walk through central park, see a broadway show and eat at one of my favorite steak restaurants STK Steakhouse. The street fairs are always interesting to me.
New Jersey has beaches and lovely restaurants with music, the choice would be in food preference at the time. A psychic reading from Dimensions Reiki would be a must. He helps one ground and opens your senses to learn about one’s own potential.
Arizona also offers a variety of shops and restaurants beside the obvious of STK Steakhouse in Scottsdale. The Phoenician in Scottsdale offers a pleasant breakfast experience and an awesome bar in the evening accommodating me with a red sangria not usually offered on the menu. Sedona is a must while in this area. The views are breathtaking and the overall vibe brings anyone into a peaceful state, crystal shopping should be a requirement.
I always meet interesting people along my travels and I’ve had the opportunity to learn about culture, business, and life- challenges. I give and get advice this experience allows me to expand my knowledge.
I have been fortunate enough to see many places I couldn’t mention them all, places in Mexico and Europe and they all have been wonderful. If I had to pick a unique place I would still say Walt Disney World continues to have a special place in my heart.
Anywhere in the right company is an experience to appreciate.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I found encouragement from many sources and would love to name them all. However, my children are my greatest inspiration. I must also include three significant authors Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad Poor Dad), Tony Robbins (Unshakeable), and Joe Dispenza (Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself). Their books helped me understand the system we live in and how not to fear it.
