Hi Jessica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my Own Business gave me a positive impact to move smart and dream big. I started my braid shop because I saw a need for a high-quality, professional space where clients could receive skilled braiding services in a welcoming and empowering environment. Braiding has always been a passion of mine, and I wanted to turn that love into a business that not only provides beautiful styles but also creates a positive, community-focused atmosphere. I carefully planned everything from the services offered to the shop’s design and branding, ensuring it would be a space where clients could feel comfortable and confident. My goal was to provide a space that not only enhances people’s appearance but also helps them feel more empowered.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My Braid craft is definitely a work of art that creates many fashionable looks. I pride my self on my attention to detail and the precision I bring to every braid or style that I create. My first priority is to make sure that my clients enter into a welcoming and comfortable environment. I make sure that I always have a positive attitude and to always listen to my clients preferences to ensure that they are happy. I go beyond just braiding, I make sure my clients leave with the knowledge to take care of their hair whether it’s advice on maintaining their braids, protective hair care, or tips on styling, I want to empower my clients to feel confident and informed. Starting my journey wasn’t easy but the more I kept striving the better it became. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in the hair industry is the importance of building strong, lasting relationships with clients. To Sum it all up I would like for the world to know about my brand and story is that at Lady J Creations we believe that braiding is not just about creating beautiful styles—it’s about empowering our clients to feel confident, comfortable, and connected to their own unique beauty. We specialize in more than just technical skill; we focus on offering a personalized experience where every client feels heard, understood, and treated with care. Whether it’s your first braid or your hundredth, we ensure you leave not only looking your best but also feeling your best, with long-lasting styles and expert advice that cater to your hair’s needs. We are passionate about building lasting relationships, fostering a welcoming environment, and making every person who walks through our door feel like family.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Dallas for a week, I’d show them a mix of culture, food, and fun. We’d kick things off with breakfast at local favorites like The Original Pancake House, followed by exploring the Dallas Museum of Art and Klyde Warren Park. We’d dive into Dallas’ food scene with BBQ at Hutchins BBQ, tacos at Mi Cocina, and upscale dinners at The French Room and STK Steakhouse. We’d hit outdoor spots like White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum, and enjoy the nightlife in Deep Ellum and Uptown. A day trip to Fort Worth would include the Stockyards and some Texas BBQ, while art lovers would appreciate the Nasher Sculpture Center and Bishop Arts District. We’d top it off with a visit to the Dallas Zoo and some relaxation at a spa or hotel pool, making sure the whole trip is filled with amazing food, culture, and memories!
