We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessie Fiedler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessie, how does your business help the community?
I started my brand, Shark Harbor Sunset, as an homage to where I grew up; Catalina Island, California. Shark Harbor is on the backside of the Island, and utterly peaceful.

SHS’’s mission is simple— Connecting others by connecting with others.

Through Photography, Networking, Promotion, Artwork/Song, Technology, and Advocacy, our company provides support in profound ways.

This is because we focus on a few basic principles:
1. I see you.
2. I hear your message and lived experience.
3. I value You as You. YOU matter.
4. Community and Compassion over Competition; we are stronger when United and Reciprocally promoting one another.
5. Promote positive media and messages.

The brand has grown a presence, for which I am grateful and humbled. We’ve spent a total of 1.50$ in total advertising since SHS started.

We believe in organic growth—fostering a real audience.

I’m fortunate enough to have easy access to multiple platforms. I use these platforms to speak my truth, and to share my space with others so they can speak their truth too.

I see you. I hear you. I believe in you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a “Renaissance Woman.” I am a photographer, multimedia artist, website designer, social media marketer, painter, dancer, songwriter, songstress, poet, jewelry maker, tie dyer, chef, landscaper…probably more I’ve forgotten.

What sets me apart are my philosophies. Partially raised by a mystic grandfather, many entrepreneurs, a 12 year stint with The Renaissance Faire (actress/improv), and an island childhood; I’m a bit different. I embrace this difference, and strive to allow others to embrace their own as well.

First on the dance floor—breaks the ice.

My photography reflects my perspective that the camera has access to wavelengths and color schemes we as humans do not have access to with our limited senses.

The camera can sense what we cannot —that alternate perspective is a reality that we cannot access without the camera’s lense.

Life is more than we have access to.

That is the central message in all my work.

I also walk up to strangers regularly and offer an on the spot photo shoot. “Everyone is a model—many just don’t know it yet.” —Me

I also advocate strongly for mental health support, suicide prevention support, veteran support, lgbtq support, and gender identity support networks.

I partner with rising artists, musicians, non profits, authors, speakers, etc. to support their dreams and causes.

If I believe in you; I do my best to promote your work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My friends and I planned a day trip to Sedona. Fantastic views, strong history, spiritually powerful.

Music venues in Phoenix:
The Marquee.
Last Exit Live ( big fan)

Support your local casinos and their respective venues and stores!!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutouts go to my father, who continuously pushes me to do better, strive harder, and not accept less than I deserve or desire. My Grandmother, Rosemary, rip, for sharing her adventures and wisdom with me. Every latke I eat makes me think of you and smile.
My Grandpa Bob, rip, who taught me carpentry, advocacy, self-care, and had a wicked sense of humor. He was deep and introspective and real simultaneously.
