We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’m a professional dancer who endured an injury about several years ago. I woke up one day with a knife stabbing pain in my chest and back, and lost strength on my left side. I couldn’t move for hours without having extreme pain. That moment postponed the opportunity to pursue my dance career any further. Everyday activities were mentally and physically draining. After going from doctor to doctor looking for clarity and not receiving any answers, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I told myself that being unable to dance, workout, or move my body in a way that felt amazing and natural to me was not an option. I started reading & teaching myself exercises that would help me gain mobility & strength with minimal pain. My experience drove my passion to learn more about the human anatomy and how to establish a safe yet effective workout regimen no matter if you’re 18 or 80 to help prevent future injuries for myself and others , which led to the creation of CENTRÉ by JH Method! We work to help you get and stay fit for the long haul. Whether you’re recovering from an injury like myself or just want to get stronger from the inside out. You still get opportunities to push your body, achieve goals, sweat, and learn how your body moves. Whether you are new to working out or a fitness enthusiast we will meet you where you are. Low impact doesn’t mean low intensity, low effort, or low reward. You can still stay engaged, reach your goals, and most importantly have fun without sacrificing your joints.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We have been working more with young dancers and professional dancers which is exciting as we have branched out to Arizona. I’m excited for everyone to get to know CENTRÉ by JH Method and strive for progress not perfection. My journey to where I’m at now hasn’t been easy, but I think nothing good ever comes easy. As you get older you realize that you are in every season for a reason. Trusting in timing of my life, having faith, and trust the magic in new things will and has kept growing and glowing. Knowing that my journey is like no others! I always say to my clients no one is you and that’s your superpower! The best advice I was given us that your passion fuels purpose. If it aligns with your purpose, then you should go forth with confidence. My injury was a huge set back me continuing to dance professionally but it nurtured a new love that helped heal myself to get back to dancing again!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming to town I would take her to Toca Madera or Second Lounge for drinks and good food. Maybe take a morning hike, spa day at the Sanctuary and of course have to do shopping. As well as take an over night trip to Sedona at Enchantment Resort.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I believe that one’s success and where/ how we got to the season we are at in life takes a team effort and support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. I can’t thank my family enough for supporting me and believing in anything I put my whole heart into. With always reminding me that I have everything if I put my faith first. Also, to my dance mentors turned friends that when things got difficult for me they helped me retrain my body and learn to love my movement with my “new “ body.
