We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josh, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The time is takes to operate a restaurant and the many hats that us small business owners have to wear is something that the general public usually do not think about. It’s not like we just “snap our fingers” and the food is prepared, the restaurant is spotless, the staff is prepared and ready to serve the customer. There are several aspects that go into each specific detail of operating our restaurant that will often not even be seen or noticed by the customer. Yet, they are important aspects of our business are essential in creating a customer service experience unlike any other.
What should our readers know about your business?
Miracle Mile Delicatessen was founded in 1949 by my grandfather, Jack Grodzinsky, in Phoenix, Arizona on 16th Street & McDowell Road. Since then, for over 7 decades, we have become one of the Valley’s longest standing dining institutions, serving some of New York’s best East Coast delicacies. We are extremely proud to have the opportunity to serve generations of Valley families and for them to be able to share their love of Miracle Mile with each other. We have been in our current location at 16th Street & Campbell since 2015. It was a huge risk and accomplishment to purchase our own piece of land and construct our own building that we could call “home”, moving away from shopping centers for the first time in our history. It has been proven to be a very successful move for our business and we are thankful that the community has continued to support us. Since March 2020, our business (as well as every other business across the world) has encountered something that we have never seen before in COVID-19. Over the last 7 months, we have learned so much about ourselves, our team and our generous community. We have continued to find different ways to pivot and ensure that we have been able to serve our customers throughout these times that have been so difficult for us all to endure. We have learned so much about each other as a team, and have continued to support one another and provide a positive environment & comfort for everyone. I would like everyone to know how hard our entire team works behind the scenes and how grateful we all are for our loyal Miracle Mile patrons that have also become a part of our Miracle Mile Family!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife, Desiree, daughter Sophie (11) and son Jack (8), are the reason why I work so hard and do what I do. I am blessed to have a supportive family that know how hard I have to work in order to serve our customers and ensure that we are able to provide for the 22 employees that are a huge part of our Miracle Mile Family. My parents, Jill & George Garcia, have operated our family business over the last 40 years, and I have been lucky enough to learn from them being a part of our family business over the last 15 years. They have created the vision and foundation for our family establishment and I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the institution that my grandfather, Jack Grodzinsky, founded in 1949. Thank you to Charlotte Shaff and The Media Push for all of the support and helping us spread the word about our family business. Thank you to Loren Condron and Dotted & Crossed Marketing, helping us share our Miracle Mile story with the digital/social media universe.
