We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my authenticity to who I am and my strong conviction in integrity. Being aligned with who I truly am supports my attitude to live bright, boldly and full of passion. As a former police officer, my word is my bond. Integrity comes into play with giving more than I have promised, and being a woman of my word. Integrity again supports me in my authenticity. I don’t just coach and speak on ideas…..I live those ideas and ideals!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a former police officer and SWAT member, I have witnessed first hand how quickly life can change and that there is no promise of tomorrow. I am most proud of my huge heart, and I live by the motto: To Whom Much Is Given, Much is Expected. I am driven to leave this world, my community, and the people I meet better off for having known me. The Adventures of Julie Jones and GSD (Get Shit Done) Coaching are designed to inspire individuals to live their best life in the moment. Stop waiting and start living. The biggest lesson I have learned is that I AM ENOUGH! I love to have fun, make people laugh because I am the first to laugh at myself and I don’t care what I look like. I wear costumes all the time, make outlandish videos, and everyday I choose positive. Trust me, I have had my share of trauma and traumatic experiences. My life is not rainbows, sunshine and unicorns all the time. I face the fears I have and just take action. I give permission to people to do the same.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to travel and explore. One of my favorite places is the Grand Canyon….it brings tears to my eyes every time I see it! We would take the train from Williams to the Grand Canyon, and then take a helicopter over the Grand Canyon. It is the BEST way to take in the magnitude and expansiveness of the Grand Canyon. Living In Fountain Hills, we would walk around the fountain and experience the art walk and the beauty of the area. We would hike in Sedona, and eat at the Hideaway House. In that area, we would make a quick stop in Jerome and Cottonwood and do some wine tasting. Of course, there is so much to see and do in Scottsdale and Phoenix. The Segway tour is a must in Old Town with a stop for a fine dinner at Ocean 44. No trip would be complete without stopping at the Butterfly Wonderland and going beneath the water at Odysea. Finally flying high at I-fly would be on the Scottsdale itinerary as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Wow….what an amazing question. My shoutout is to my husband Mike Jones who has always seen how bright I shine and has encouraged me to follow my dreams. He gives me the freedom and liberty to pursue my passion. He has told me over and over that I light up a room especially when I am speaking. His drive for his own business inspires me to passionately pursue mine. Attending classes with PSI Seminars started me on the personal growth and self discovery journey to know that ANYTHING is possible and that I am a rockstar in my own right. Thru out my life, I have been blessed and surrounded with so many incredible people that have inspired me to be the best version of me. I am truly grateful.
