We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie LaCroix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I moved to Peoria, I saw the chance to bring the community together through hyperlocal, beautiful content reflecting who to know, what to do and where to be.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am so excited to have launched North Peoria Lifestyle. This magazine is all about what is happening in town, and reflects the vibe and vision that is uniquely North Peoria. There are so many people who live and work here, and my magazine is a mirror to show my readers interesting content and fabulous, high end advertisers. I work hard to find advertisers my readers can trust, and build relevant content that is interesting and fun to read.
I spent 15 years as an executive coach and 10 years prior to that on Wall Street. I truly understand how our economy is structured, how to market a business, and how to weave a personal story into a brand.
My path has not been easy – it has taken a lot of hard work and perseverance to develop my 3 core building blocks: Economics, Psychology, and Career Mobility. I understand that interplay perfectly and have hired a great team to help me develop the vision.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would never miss a chance to grab an iced tea at NW Coffee, tacos at Cantina Gueros, or Sushi at Kawaii. I would also spend a day on beautiful Lake Pleasant or go for a long hike on one of our beautiful trails. We have an incredible trail system here in North Peoria. I would invite a bunch of friends over and hang out in my pool a few nights, and grab some incredible sunsets from the lake or just in my neighborhood.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a huge shoutout to Jessica Bischof of Libertas Real Estate who has been unrelentingly supportive in my journey to launch the magazine. She has included me in business and personal networking groups, attended my launch party, and referred many important business connections to me. I can’t thank her enough for making me feel welcome in this community.
