We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Benford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind wanting to start my own business was this: I was tired of seeing brilliant women doubt themselves or even worse, have these BIG aspirations, and yet tell themselves they weren’t capable of making it happen. I wanted to start my business so I could help these women step out of their zone of familiarity with confidence & the courage to make their lives the best they can be. I also wanted the time freedom that having my own business has brought. Starting my own business has been a scary endeavor, but it has been worth every single second of it.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business caters to women who want to create a life that’s more abundant, successful, wealthy & filled with love. I am excited about the quantum movements I am making in my own life that are pouring into my clients experiences & lives. I started my business as a blog 3 years ago. I wanted to write about mindset and spread the word about shifting your perspective in order to make a better life for yourself. I loved writing and figured I may as well try to monetize it. I took the first step and The Universe presented the rest, which is when I got connected with Yes Supply (the company I got certified with). It hasn’t always been easy, but I always went back to the fact that I know if I had this idea to be a coach, it’s there for a reason. So, I had no choice but to go after it. The biggest lesson I have learned on my journey thus far is that you have to make the undeniable decision to be successful. You have to declare your success with 1000% trust that it’s coming to you in divine timing. You have to have a “I’m not taking no for an answer” type of attitude if you want to reach TRUE success. I want everyone to know that I’m no one special. I am a regular person from a regular town in Arizona. If I can do it, so can you. Everything that your idols have, you can have too. Keep going!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to The Americano for happy hour! This is one of the best restaurants in Phoenix in my humble opinion.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m going to be dedicating this piece to my parents. The last time I did Shout Out, I shouted out my mentor, Kathrin Zenkina (and she’s helped me so much). However, this time, I need to shout out my mother & father because they have ALWAYS stood by my side as I’ve built my business. They have always told me that I could do anything I set my mind to, if I truly believe it’s possible. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mother’s & my father’s support.
