Meet Keleigh Levine | Body Piercing Apprentice

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keleigh Levine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keleigh, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a body piercer. I’ve always been interested in the arts, whether that be music, drawing, theater, poetry, etc. I wanted a career where I could be myself and express who I am without fear of judgement based on how I look or dress.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my dream career towards the end of last year at Enchanted Dragon Tattooing and Body Piercing. I also work part time as a waitress at a diner to pay bills in the meantime because my apprenticeship is unpaid. It’s been rough because of all the hours I work every week and I get such little sleep but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve wanted to be a piercer since I was 13 years old and now that I have the opportunity to build my dream career, nothing will get in my way. I’ve been taken under the wing of Hector Noriega, who has been piercing professionally for the last 23 years, along with many other AMAZING piercers who work alongside him.
It’s been a rough ride so far, but I’m very excited to see where my career will take me! I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with. I’m so excited to finally be working my dream job….a job I’ve begged the universe for over the last 16 years.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The food scene here is great. There’s many different types of restaurants around here but I really like Sachiko Sushi and El Sinaloense Hot Dog Cart. Reid Park is a large park with playgrounds, water (ducks!!) and a zoo! There’s a few malls around as well. It gets pretty hot during the summer months so the nightlife is good as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a few people I’d like to recognize:
I want to thank my parents and sister for always believing in me and being by my side.
My children for showing me what true love is, for showing me patience, graciousness, and for blessing me by being in my life. They are my number one, always.
My partner for sticking by me through all the good, the bad, the messy, and the fun, and for always being there.
Also all of my mentors for helping me along with my journey as a professional body piercer. I couldn’t do any of this without you!
