We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerry Weber-Augustyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kerry, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say the most important factor behind the success of my salon would be the genuine relationships I have formed with my clientele. I have known most of my clients for years and am always welcoming new clients as well. I have formed such amazing friendships with them, making people feel beautiful and then loving their hair really matters to me. ❤️
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my journey becoming a hairstylist at the young age of 18. I attended beauty school while at the same time I was a senior in highschool and was also about to become a single mother. Needless to say, life was super busy for me. My love for the beauty industry was always a constant in my life and I knew becoming a hairstylist was something I enjoy doing as a profession. Twenty two years later, I have my own salon suite called Beauty Junkie Hair Studio locates in Gilbert AZ. I absolutely love visiting with my clients and getting to be creative everyday with giving new haircuts, texturizing, and color changes. I don’t ever feel like I’m working because I followed my heart and passions when choosing my career.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If one of my friends came to town to visit for a week we would definitely have to take a day trip out to Sedona or downtown flagstaff to enjoy some shopping in the cute botique stores and take in the beautiful scenery and cooler weather. We would have to have some dinner at Barrio queen or Oreganos in downtown Gilbert and then maybe enjoy some wine at Postinos before we go out for some dancing at Whiskey row.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my family for always believing in me, my dreams, my artistic ability and being my support throughout my life. I have all I ever need with the continual love I receive from you all.
