We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiamesha Guy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiamesha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The history and vision behind the start-up of Quiet Waters Maternity Spa and Wellness Center, PLLC explains the process of starting my own business. In 2005 while on Active Reserve for the US Navy, I decided to pursue a career in Natural Health. My 1st step was to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. One week into Massage Therapy school, my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our second child.
My advisor informed me I could stop and restart after the delivery or continue and see how far I could go in the program. We decided I would continue schooling. Due to spending my entire pregnancy and post-partum time during the year long program, my classmates and I learned more about Massage Therapy and Prenatal Care than any other Massage Therapy program would normally allow. When it came to our Business Development course I knew my calling was to create a health center Dedicated to Pregnant women; where these women and baby could come to one location and receive all options of Beneficial Maternity care. And in 2006 there was Not enough focus and preventative care to reduce the astronomical numbers for miscarriage, pre-mature births and newborn death.
My training, research and education led me to know there is One solution. Reduce Stress; stress that mom endures and transfers to baby while being pregnant. So I knew then the positive Societal Impact Quiet Waters could provide for the Maternal World by “Enhancing Overall Well-Being, Two at a Time”. And yes it started as Prenatal Massage Therapy and Natural Aesthetic services, but that was how Quiet Waters Maternity Spa and Wellness Center was born. Since 2006, I serviced a majority of Maricopa and Pinal County cities within our mommies homes and in the Mobile Service unit, a 32′ Motor Coach with a room Dedicated for spa services only.
I did decide to take the time to focus on raising my husband and I’s 4 children from 2014 – 2020. But the calling became even louder, the numbers reflecting maternity related deaths and surgeries are still the same and the vision of Creating the space for multiple Maternal and Women’s health providers became my Focus again. So in the summer of 2020 after I contacted a business development training professional, my husband and I, with the help of family, gathered what we had financially available and we secured an office location in Chandler, AZ, to stay centralized between Maricopa and Pinal County, and Re-Opened Quiet Waters Maternity Spa and Wellness Center on October 20th, 2020.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So here’s the thing, most of my friends are mom’s, dad’s, mostly military and Arizonans. So our week would look slightly different. Without any particular order, we would Definitely have at least lunch or dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and watch a movie at Harkins, both at Chandler Fashion Mall Brush up our skills at C2 Tactical or an outdoor range, camping at one of our many lakes would have to be on the list for our families along with heading to Top golf for fun and Laughter and Sunsplash in Mesa for Summer Cooldown.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
