We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiera Jesslyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiera, how do you define success?
Success to me is defined by contrast. You have to understand the hardships and hard work to appreciate succeeding and forward momentum. The law of polarity has always been a huge driver of continuing to dig deep and work as hard as possible and what I mean by that is; for every low there is a higher high. You have to see the vision and know that it is okay to be obsessed. Success to me isn’t millions upon millions made, it’s about creating something impactful and enjoying the ride while doing it. Success is freedom. Success is a movement that touches everyone.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Early on I set out to change the photography game; no more waiting weeks upon weeks to receive your gallery, no more stuffy awkward shoots, and no more images you’re not happy with. That’s why its called #theELITEexperience!

The number one question I get from my clients is typically, ‘wow, how long have you been doing this?’ Well, my investment with photography and creating goes back to my elementary years. Photography and creating was always a passion for me but more of a hobby initially.

When the pandemic hit it made me realize I was not ruthlessly chasing my dreams or passions. When the doors of my 9-5 job as an RMT were closed for COVID, I hit the ground running and was determined to change the photography game. I am 100% self taught, from the ground up. I am thankful for cultivating my entire business and photography niche by trial and error.

I dove full time into photography in 2019 and built one heck of a badass business through the pandemic. Must be nice right? HELL NO. I worked ferociously hard to do it. There was sleepless nights, long hours and literal blood, sweat, and tears. Building something great does not happen overnight. If you’re not ready to learn resilience and work hard as EVER, you will never succeed. Not only in photography; but in any tangent of life.

As we approach 2023 I am booked months in advance, multi-published, and have clients in every corner of the world.

You have to be so unique that people have to search you out for something different. Your work and client care should speak for itself. Not only do I focus on delivering outstanding imagery to my clients, I ensure that they feel like a rockstar and have fun through the whole process.

People may forget what you say, but they will never forget how you made them FEEL, and that is the centrefold of my business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In the beautiful Okanagan there are endless things to experience and do. Me being the adventure loving sportster that I am I love catching a surf wave behind boats and enjoying water sports throughout the summer. Kelowna is rich with beaches and hidden spots to enjoy the many lakes in the area! That’s why they call it Kelownafornia!

Also it’s wine country so there is an array of vineyards and winery’s to enjoy that all have a different ambience and vibe. Catching a wine tour with a bunch of stops is a great idea. A few of my favourites are Mission Hill, Summer Hill, Crown and Thieves, and 50th Parallel.

Good eats in Kelowna are also easy to find. My favourite private owned restaurant is hands down Waterfront Wines. It is a small place, where they hand prepare unique dishes and honestly they knock it out of the park everytime. Other than that Cactus Yacht club is my go to!

The hiking in the area is also great; Knox mountain is central Kelowna or Spion Kop in lake country has a 360 view of all 4 near lakes.

Kelowna is easy to enjoy whether you are relaxing or adventuring.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Something that deserves huge recognition in my story are my clients, my friends and my family that never waivered in their support for me. Even if they thought I was off my rocker crazy pursing something that would never happen; their support never waivered. And my clients who ferociously support me, appreciate me, and refer everyone to me; they’re worth their weight in gold.
