We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Villa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, how do you think about risk?
I think in order to achieve something great you have to step out of your comfort zone and take risks. In my experience as an entrepreneur taking risk comes with the territory, and often requires a lot of trial and error along with incredible dedication no matter the pitfalls that may come. At the end of the day taking those risks ultimately lead me to my purpose and something I will forever be grateful for.
What should our readers know about your business?
I run my own online personal training program that helps women loose weight and gain confidence. We focus on creating healthy relationships with food and empowering women through exercise.
My journey started by suffering the loss of my late fiancé and the father of my two children. It was the darkest place I had ever been in and with that came a deep depression. I found fitness as a way to occupy my mind and get me through the hard days. It then started to take on a life of its own. I instantly fell in love with how it made me feel and results that came with it. I knew at that point I wanted to take it to the next level by helping other women feel the same way. Of course like any other business I’ve run into bumps in the road but there is no progress without distress. So I am thankful for the lessons. Overcoming some of these obstacles has taught me that giving up is not an option and never be afraid to reach out and ask for help! Using the people and resources around me has made a tremendous difference.
There can be beauty in tragedy and devastation can bring evolution.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting from out of town we are definitely going to Sedona! Starting with a morning meditation and then for breakfast at one of my fav places by the lake. Then we would take a hike around one the many trails Sedona has to offer.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have an amazing support system. I owe a lot to my family and my best friend/boyfriend. This circle has been my rock throughout this whole process and I am so thankful for them.
