We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Eddy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristina, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Early in my career, I felt the pressure and need to prove myself and I was eager to work longer hours. The payoff in my mind was greater than the sacrifice of my personal time for a while. As I got older, more confident, and have added to my family, the eagerness to work and excel in my career is still there, however I’ve learned that it is OK to say no and that I cannot control everything. There are still urgent details that need to be addressed timely and I do finish things “after hours”, but I’m way more mindful of how that impacts my family and my own well-being. I am blessed to work for a company that is family oriented and I am supported in both professional and home life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I build relationships with interior designers, architects, residential home builders and remodelers and other industry partners to provide knowledge and expertise in porcelain and stone selections for their projects. Honestly, I get to play with some really fun and pretty tile and natural stone to make a design concept come to life! I love that I learn something each and every day, and that I can continue to grow both personally and professionally within my company.

I am most proud of the charity efforts that Facings of America makes to the community through Design for Dogs. We bring together our design and build clients who create and build dog houses to be auctioned and all proceeds benefit the Arizona Animal Welfare League. We recently hosted and completed our 8th annual event and were able to donate over $50,000 to this amazing cause!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my best friend to the Grand Canyon to see this awe-inspiring natural wonder, Sedona for the most beautiful red rocks, and we’d finish the week with a relaxing stay at the Phoenician to hang by the pool and be pampered.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband! Dusty Eddy. This life we have together is a team effort and we lean on each other to find that balance.
