We had the good fortune of connecting with Krystina Moran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krystina, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Consistency. I chose a plan of action and a way to go about my business ethic and stuck to it. I have followed that same plan and only tweaked positive changes — changes for growth — along the way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I had a very artistic up-bringing. I love art and design. Something that contributes to the creativity (or brand) of my images is the fact that I use an artistic approach in capturing the personalities of people’s furry loved ones. I don’t just set a scene and photograph the shot, I focus on highlighting the uniqueness of each animal or people with their animals. The biggest compliments I have received are when clients ask me how I did it. How did you capture their personality so well? I love that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I was born and raised in Arizona. This state has a lot to offer. Depending on the time of year, there are many options. If they visited in the Winter (yes, wintertime!) we would definitely do a little “stay-cation” at one of the many resorts in Scottsdale for a little warm Arizona sun and pool time. In the Spring, we would walk around Old Town Scottsdale and check out all of the shops and restaurants before or after catching a spring training game. In the Summer, I love to go up north. We would definitely visit one of the wineries or creeks for a picnic. The Fall in Arizona is the absolute best. It is the perfect time for any/all of the above options I have just mentioned.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my husband, John, in helping me narrow down my passions in life to lead me to deciding to start my pet photography business. His constant support and encouragement makes it virtually impossible to fail at anything.
