We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyle, what’s your definition for success?
I truly believe that each person has a destiny to be fulfilled during their time on Earth. A person only learns what their destiny is by looking within instead of to others. So, this is why each person has their own distinct destiny. For me, success is not an attainable goal. Success is an ongoing mindset of working tirelessly toward your destiny and having undying faith that your destiny will be fulfilled due to your hard-work.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At ClipDart, we redefine the way people receive haircuts forever, however, what separates us is “Our Why”. I founded ClipDart as a way to treat the mental unwellness of people of color that was attributed to an inability to self-care in a culturally familiar way. Today, we help improve the mental wellness of people around the world via selfless, mobile barbers and hairstylists. ClipDart’s innovate, three pillar model continuously pushes our mission & vision in an effective, creative, & unique manner!
3 ClipDart Core Pillars
(1) On-Demand Barber App coming February 2022: With our iOS ClipDart app, getting your haircut has never been easier. Our app allows you to select a licensed, background-checked barber to travel to an appointment location of your choice at your preferred time! We eliminate the many barbershop restraints and present barbers with the opportunity of attainable economic and emotional freedom.
(2) Business Partnerships: ClipDart’s mission is to make getting a haircut effortless, but that can be difficult in communities with restricted access to culturally diverse barbers. As such, ClipDart works with various organizations such as colleges, hospitals, nursing homes, etc., to provide exceptional haircuts as a service, at little to no cost to the individuals in need!
(3) Community Givebacks: Barbers & hairstylists are incredible listeners! Their ability to empathize with all walks of life is why communities are built around them. With the help of loving barbers & hairstylists, ClipDart provides free haircuts & other essential services to our neighbors in need in the form of giveback events. More importantly, we lend our neighbors our ears & not just our hands!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To show my best friend the best time ever, I would travel to Europe and explore as many countries as we could in 2 weeks (before he gets too homesick). We would start in Greece, head east to Italy, then north to Denmark, short stop to UK over west, then east to Germany, southeast to France, and finish in Spain toasting Teso La Monja in Seville to our successful vacation. The order of the countries will be the only itinerary. Everything else will be a “we’ll walk around and find something” situation.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to my mother, Rev. Dr. Valerie Toney-Parker, my brother, Justin Parker, and, my girlfriend, Mara Baller! As a social entrepreneur and professional athlete abroad in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and U.S. racial unrest, I, quickly, realized the importance of having a support system of faithful, honest, and loving people (just like them!). Every day, unconsciously or verbally, they encourage me to be a better person than I was yesterday. I am truly blessed to learn & grow through life with them!
