We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren & Brandon Bennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren & Brandon, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking has its time & place in life and especially in business. Higher risk often means higher reward. Brandon has always been a risk taker, which has allowed him to experience so many different things in life. Some good and some bad. As a pair, we balance each other out. I am less of a risk taker but because of Brandon’s encouragement I left my career as a teacher and launched my own business at 24 years old.

What should our readers know about your business?
Brandon and I are both entrepreneurs at heart and always have been. I started Lolo Digital Services in 2018 while still a 2nd grade teacher. At the time I left education, I had 2 clients and we also ran our couple travel page: WorldBoundLovers (now named TwoTicketstoBennett). I set out to make a difference in the digital marketing world by helping small local businesses tell their story and connect with their ideal client. All of my marketing plans are built around building community & not just selling. Starting the business seemed unattainable at first, but because we networked so much in our local community, leads came in from all sorts of different people. One of the biggest challenges of owning a digital marketing agency is scaling. I’ve learned several lessons along the way about what it takes to scale your company and I’m still learning about it! Also, work/life balance can be incredibly hard to figure out as a business owner.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we had a week to show someone around Phoenix, we would start at our favorite local spots: Uptown Market for shopping, Luci’s at the Orchard for brunch, Butler’s Easy for drinks & Restaurant Progress for dinner. We would also take them downtown to see all the murals and enjoy several different restaurants and bars including Farish House for great local food & Hanny’s for an eclectic environment. There are so many amazing places to hang out in Central Phoenix & Downtown. We would of course take them to Old Town Scottsdale as well to see art, shop & enjoy some more local spots such as Rooster Bus & AZ 88 (for the best martinis).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our local community, stemming from the Uptown Farmers Market, deserves a lot of credit in our story! We met at the market in February of 2015 and that is really the moment that set off this wonderful chain of events and led us to where we are today. Many of my clients and leads for clients are somehow connected to our local community. Central Phoenix is full of amazing & supportive people.
