Meet Linzy Taylor | Screenwriter | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Linzy Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Linzy, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I have learned to talk to my children. Yelling doesn’t solve anything. It doesn’t help, and it often just makes everything worse. I like to get down on their level to make them feel comfortable. They open more that way, and I find that our relationships are stronger. I’m a very loud Italian woman. That can be intimidating for any child. I prefer to just take that out of the equation completely. I want them to see me as a loving woman that they can trust. Respect goes both ways. I believe that respect starts with the parent, and then the child will likely follow suit. I know that seems odd to some, but it truly works for us. I’m proud of the changes I’ve made over the years. I want my kids to feel confident and to use their voices. This encourages that behavior. They’ll be stronger because of it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a satirical content creator on TikTok with 1.8 million followers. I love to tease the trolls, and overshare with dark humor. I write dramedy so why not live it too? Sometimes you may also catch me out in public dressed like a Grandma or Winnie Sanderson! My art is not mine, it’s a family affair. Our five year old son is a nonspeaking autistic child who loves to create digital art. He’s also known for taking a crayon or two to our walls. I went to school for graphic design, and his father is a fourth generation artist. I guess you could say it runs in the family. We are all neurodivergent, and extremely creative. I’m a screenwriter, comedian, actor, singer and songwriter. My husband is a painter, builder, and a true craftsman. He sees the world in a different way. Together we create digital designs that we then sell on waterproof, uv protected vinyl. Our stickers have shipped all over the world within the last three years thanks to our TikTok community. We learned the hard way that this was not highly profitable, and people on social media aren’t always kind. However, the lifelong connections we’ve made along the way are priceless. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is hard for me because I’m from Massachusetts. We moved to Arizona in January of 2020, right as the pandemic was ramping up. There is still so much for us to explore here in the great wide open. I will say that our favorite place to stay is the Cibola Vista Resort in Peoria. It’s a magical place that has that old west appeal but in a very modern way. The landscape is stunning, and the vibe is super laid back. I also love Lake Pleasant, it’s absolutely gorgeous. There’s an awesome burger joint on the way there called Wild Horse West. The White Tank Mountain Range is a great place to see some cactus flowers in the spring. Old Town Scottsdale is also a great place to grab some drinks, shop, and catch some live music! Our friend Steven who most people know on socials as @BTYPEP brought us to Escape Westgate in Glendale! The escape rooms were challenging. We had quite the adventure, it was an absolute blast!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve met a lot of wonderful people in my life. There are so many that deserve a shoutout. I’d like to throw the spotlight on my friend Alex Tacket, also known as The Business Witch, and the founder of Namaste as F*ck. She’s a healer, a yoga teacher, a friend, a bold spirited woman who wants to help other women reach their ultimate potential. She has always inspired me. Her energy is magnetic, and what I would give to sit in her brain for 24 hours. She’s a truly incredible creature, a force of nature. Alex has this notable character trait of always being unapologetically her. She doesn’t have a fake bone in her body. Her honest and genuine qualities make for the kind of kindred spirit one could only dream of. I could go on and on, but I’d rather leave you wanting more. Go look her up.
