We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Fontaine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think this question is intriguing! I can honestly say that I have reached some success in my life, by my definition of that word. Along the way, the definition of success shifts & changes so does the factor behind it. That factor could be money to some, it could be creativity to others.., but the one factor that has always stuck with me time after time, is Character. To be of good character means that your habits, actions and emotional response are all united. I believe that me trusting in my own character, drives my projects and gains trust from my clients.
What should our readers know about your business?
As a boutique design firm specializing in bespoke interiors, I curate personal spaces for my clients. I was told once that my project portfolio was very unique, and that I must be designing for each clients personality and not for a particular style. As I later absorbed that statement, I realized that it was a compliment to my work and my relationships that I build with each client. That is what truly sets me apart. I have to really get to know my clients personalities, which helps me understand how to design a home that is going to be usable and functional for them.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Ooooo, Fun Question! Arizona is so versatile .. there are so many things to do for every type of adventure. A day trip to Sedona would be a must-do. There is nothing quite like the Red Rocks and sunsets in that town. Throw in an easy hike for some activity, & an ice cream treat at Black Cow Cafe after… and of course we’d have to stop at Page Springs Winery for a wine tasting & picnic by the creek! I am a downtown Phoenix girl myself, so I’d want to show off my favorite city sites like the Luhrs Tower, Orpheum Theatre, San Carlos Hotel and the Art & Murals scattered around town by local artist Lalo Cota.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love this! YES, we do not get to where we are going without support from others! I have a few notables that I would love to give a Shoutout too! This first shoutout goes direclty to my parents, John & Connie, the people that have truly given everything for me to be right where I am today! They encouraged my art from a young age, they supported me thru college and they let me leave.. all they way across the country, to continue this journey. They are my biggest cheerleaders in every way! Many thanks to my friend and business coach, Tim Castro. You’ve seen me thru the good and bad (let’s say mostly good!) since I’ve been an entrepreneur and stayed my friend thru it all. In 2019 I joined an amazing networking group, KNOW Tribe, which is a group of Women Owned Businesses, Leaders, Creators & Entrepreneurs! Talk about support, mentorship and friendships.. it all happens here in this group! My friends from PA to AZ… you have heard ALL the stories! Thank you for the continued support, much needed happy hours and R&R vacations.
