Hi Marisol, what inspires you?
This a great question! My biggest inspiration would have to be my family. My siblings and I were fortunate enough to have two hard working parents. Growing up as part of the lower-middle class, we constantly saw our parents struggle to make ends meet. They were living pay check to pay check and worked multiple jobs. Although some of those jobs paid really well, they still had 4 kids at home who they needed to support. My parents never gave up. They provided us a wonderful life filled with amazing opportunities. I couldn’t thank them enough. My biggest goal in life is to be able to retire my family and I hope to achieve it one day. Besides my family, I am surrounded by amazing people everyday. I work alongside 4 creative artist who constantly think outside the box. We have created a positive, lifting and exciting environment at Veronica & Co. You know you love what you do when it doesn’t feel like work. I definitely am so proud of the clientele I have built. My clients are mostly women. Hearing their stories no matter their age absolutely is an inspiration. Everyone has a story to be told and I would say it’s pretty common to be inspired by someone else’s hard work. My partner in life is also in the hair industry. It is pretty amazing to share the same interest with someone. He definitely pushes me to continue to work hard. Last by certainly not least, I have a great circle of friends who continuously praise me for my achievements and encourage me to get out of my comfort zone. I would not be who I am without my family and friends. They have no idea how much they inspire me everyday.Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I do everything hair! I have been a licensed cosmetologist for almost 6 years now. I currently booth rent in Paradise Valley located in Phenix Salon Suites. Our suite name is Veronica & Co. I have been here for 1 year and a half. When I decided to be self employed, I didn’t expect it to be easy. I knew there would be obstacles along the way. I am so grateful to have such a supportive system around me. The past year has not been easy running around a pandemic. You definitely expect some hurdles along the way when you own your own business, but never one like this. The pandemic has taught me to continue to work hard and push the limits. I learned to not be too comfortable in any situation, as anything can change. I have used the power of social media to grow my business through a tough year and I can honestly say I’ve had the most successful year of my career thus far. I want everyone to feel welcomed and have fun when they come to me for any service. I want “ solbeautyy” to be more than just hair. I am excited to see what’s next in my career.Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
During today’s time, it’s a little tough being out and about but there are a few places I love to visit! For breakfast/lunch, I would definitely recommend Hash Kitchen located in Glendale. The environment is so fun and definitely Instagram worthy! The staff is super friendly and the service is always amazing. Some fun places to check out with a group of friends of family is Top Golf. There is a location in Glendale and Scottsdale! It is a fun and easy semi-golfing experience! There is also a variety of things to check out in the Westgate entertainment center. You have a choice between a few different bars and restaurants. There’s even a movie theatre and a Dave and Buster. You can always take some time to go shopping right next door at Tanger Outlet!Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure.
