We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Fisher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, what role has risk played in your life or career?
“My dear, you are here, now but for onc, let yourself get lost, let your heart swell & explode. Want to see the red of you love stained on your clothes. We are here, now, but once, let yourself love unashamed. Let yourself lose, win, and risk loss again, then emerge, new, & loving again.” -Mary K Fisher I use to be on a road with no destination, I was just driving with hope that I would find a place with peace, safety, and growth. I left everything packed in the back of my Dodge Caliber car to go up the coast of California. I didn’t know what I was looking for, but i believe it was more of a feeling of self discovery and new life I was pursing. A new environment that changed my perspective and with that, I found the self, through healing and understanding, while encountering the patience behind what time does for one. Without movement, there was only moss growing on the rolling stone. In order to avoid stagnancy in my life, I personally believe in movement and networking. Shaking new hands and looking into strangers eyes. Take the risk, and say yes more, while protecting your boundaries.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Life’s past experience’s and the need to be better than the person I was yesterday is the fuel that belongs in my engine. When writing my book, ” That’s My Cup of Tea”, it was inspired by a collection of poems over many years. Stories of love, happiness, pain, abuse, trauma, and healing. Each chapter is labeled after a type of tea (ex: Chia, Green Tea, Black Tea) in which it also gives a brief description on the benefits of that type of tea. Tea is a universal symbol for harmony, spiritual enlightenment, spiritual awakening, refreshment, change, and contentment. Once you take a sip of hot tea, you feel a sense of gratitude and relief. That’s exactly how I want the reader to experience my book. in 2017 I graduated from Queens Univeristy of Charlotte, North Carolina with my Psychology degree, where prior I ran collegiate track and played soccer. After completing school, I dived head first into the fitness world, while competing in my first NPC competition and shortly after that starting my brand Finesse Kinetics. This was the starting blocks to my entrepreneur adventures! I was hungry for the knowledge, I wanted to understand how the body and mind worked. Over the years, the foundation for my data base has come from researching on google, youtube tutorials, along with in personal training sessions with NFL coaches and players. How did I land myself in these positions? Through kindness, passion, and extreme interest in the field. This was easy to achieve, because I wanted it. Simple as that. I spoke about it, I read about it, and I manifested everything I visualized. With an aggressive work load of clients and inserting myself into conversations I was able to achieve success and a fluid business routine. My next goal is to become a traveling musician and building local businesses in my hometown of Tucson, Az.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you love the heat, Phoenix is for you! From professional sports, a progressive night scene, and a massive creative community, there is plenty to experience.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“To all the inspiring voices in the world, the ones who took the chance & spoke up, those who are healing. Who are lost. Who are confused. Who need answers. Who took the risk. The ones who are trying to make sense of it all. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you for your strength, your boldness, & courage. For continuing to water the worlds backbone. A Million times over. Thank you.” -Mary K Fisher
