We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Cannon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Leaving my corporate job was a huge decision and deciding to shift my focus to moonmalas took me two years to finally commit to doing, The single most important decision was to not worry about what other people thought about my decision. I realized that was holding me back from moving forward because I allowed the opinions and thoughts of others to influence me which then messed with my intuitive thoughts and was really their fears about their own lives and not mine. Taking a true leap of faith because you know the outcome either way will be worth it is what matters most.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create Malas for people with specific intentions to help them create, manifest, and get through situations in their lives. They are made with precious and semi precious stones. I love watching people go through their spiritual awakening and journey to shift to become who they are supposed to be. Moonmalas came naturally to me as a vision but its always hard to maintain because we are always growing and changing but I would say it s good thing, just have to be flexible. I’ve learned that dreams and visions are great but expectations can lead to let down, so going into situations with a dream or a goal of how you want to make people feel is way better than setting an expectation on how you want it to go exactly. I hope the world knows my brand is nothing but me, I don’t know how to be anyone else and its authentic and its my heart.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Phoenix is so great! We are so alive as a city and I love that. I would tell them to go to the original Barrio Cafe, Changing hands book store, Dig it Plant store, 12 west for a good beer, Atlas Bistro is my hidden gem, Phoenix Botanical Gardens, So many great yoga studios, and hike the superstitions. The list could go on and on…
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s so many people who showed up after I made my decision. My husband has always been my biggest supporter and number one fan. Stores offering pop up shops, yoga studios hosting workshops, friends helping design my website. Books that I read years before that planted the seed to follow my gut.
