We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Vega and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Mexico and was brought to the US when I was 5 years old. I watched my parents work so hard to provide for myself and my two younger siblings. They earned everything they have today by having strong work ethic and giving 100% in everything they do. I have admired that so much throughout the years and it has shaped me in the women I am today and how I show up for my business.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Balloon styling has become so popular over the years. There are so many different ways to innovate your balloon work and I am always learning something new. Everything I know today was learned with trial and error until I perfected my technique. It’s hard to not look at your work and compare it to other amazing stylists but at the end of the day I have learned that this is art and we all have our unique way of creating these beautiful setups. There is no one way to balloon styling the possibilities are endless and you are always growing and learning. My goal is to bring my clients vision to life and I believe I deliver. Although it is not always easy it takes a lot of you physically and mentally I am so proud of where I am today and I am so excited to show so much more of my creativity.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I can definitely say that my business wouldn’t be where it is today without the help of the people around me. From my mother who is amazing and so hands on at my setups, she is there whenever I need her and makes sure I don’t forget things or helps me prep a night before. My husband who has been nothing but supportive and seriously my biggest cheerleader. He helps me stay grounded and makes sure I don’t try to throw in the towel! My 3 little ones who admire this crazy yet fun journey I am in. This shoutout goes out to them because without them this wouldn’t be possible.
